The Polaroid microphone shock mount is just what you need to reduce and/or eliminate noise in your recordings caused by the physical movements of an external microphone. When a microphone is interested in a ordinary clip mount and then attached to a camera , low frequency vibrations from the camera body will travel up to the microphone putting unwanted noise in your soundtrack Simple causes for noise are pressing and releasing shutter or record button, changing position of hands, grabbing hold of a lens or to refocus. When attached to a microphone stand, vibration travels from the floor, up the stand and onto the microphone body With the Polaroid shock mount, vibrations from the adjustable mounting clip are directed onto four flexible suspension bands which absorb the vibrations. The microphone body remains insulated from annoying equipment noises. Should one of the suspension bands become overstretched or broken, two spare bands are included in this package. You can mount it via you camera/camcorders hot shoe or mount with a ¼ 20, 3/8 thread. A must accessory for any microphone

Solid build, versatile ease-of-use, household brand name
It really feels like being Polaroid, I am sold by the brand awareness of being a household name to begin with. They go back as far as my grandparents and even with the re-establishment of the "new" Polaroid corporation, they're brand isn't one to be taken lightly. This was the last place I would expect a peripheral from a company -- so kudos on selling me on the brand alone.Second, I really like how this shockmount mentioned by microphone, as I was looking for it to begin with, so I guess that means that the Azden SMX-10 is a pretty popular product to warrant a mention for specific compatibility. Now onto the product itself, not only was the packaging standard, this mount was lighter than I was expecting and the features (right down to helpful where it said that the rubber bands can be replaced by purchasing o-rings at any hardware store) make this an easily accessible shock mount. I really like the build quality as well, and not just for the aforementioned weight of the product, the threads are snug for the hot-shoe mount at the bottom, the rubber bands keep my microphone in place, and while its a little bigger than the initial mount that came with my Azden SMX-10, its definitely a lot easier to attach and detach from the shock mount.Overall, a solid buy and a great brand to back it up with over 80 years of experience behind the product.
