The Chocolate Babies are in Stock for a very limited time.  Sadly, when they are gone, they are gone. Chocolate Babies are chocolate flavored mellocreme candies shaped like babies about 1 inch long. They have the texture of candy corn.

Not the same as they were in the 70s-the name changed & the recipe is different too :(
These are not the Chocolate Babies from my childhood. There is no difference from the taste/texture of tootsie rolls. This version is much bigger than than the originals. These are NOT the original recipe. While these are not the originals, I wonder at what point Necco bought and or took over the naming and making. I was a child when the name of these candies was absolutely DEPLORABLE. I'm glad they changed the name, but not glad they changed the recipe. If I wanted tootsie rolls, I would have bought tootsie rolls-which are far less expensive than these Chocolate Babies-almost twice as much per pound. Order tootsie rolls, if you like them, I don't so I paid $12 in a product that just went into the trash. Live and learn.

Gross they were stale horrible once again ingot These because they reminded me of my childhood tasted like they were left over from my childhood 70's

Not the Original Candy
If you're looking for the original candy from your childhood, these aren't it. The originals had a firmer consistency, closer to candy corn. These have a consistency of almost a soft Tootsie Roll/Fudge combination. No mentioning of Necco anywhere in packaging, which is misleading. They came all stuck together. While they are in a a chocolate babies shape, they seem to be bigger in size than the original, measuring slightly over 1.25". They also came not in the original packaging, but in a white box that says "Shelburne Country Store, Home of the World's Best Homemade Fudge" so one can assume they make these out of fudge at their shop. They are not bad, but they are clearly not the originals.

Not What I Remember
They tasted ok. I don't think they used a historically accurate mold. The original candies didn't stick together either. My house was maybe 72 degrees and these stuck together. Its a fair suggestion of a long gone item.

I would recommend to the shipper that the product be labeled as ...
The Chocolate babies arrived in a melted blob. Was not what I was expecting, one chocolate blob as opposed to 1 pound of chocolate babies, individual babies. I would recommend to the shipper that the product be labeled as heat sensitive!

Order came quickly...it just arrived as almost a solid block...all melted together.....very sad
