Incredible quality for this price (my kids will use this some day)
This is a heck of a splitting maul at a great price. Quality is closer to the expensive brand names and far, far better quality than the junk they sell at the big box hardware store (don't buy those, made-in china junk you'll replace it after a year).Pro:- the head is hand-forged in Sweden and it came pretty sharp and ready to split out of the box.- I've also been using it to drive a splitting wedge. No issues.- the handle is a nice hickory, and it's hung correctly with correct grain positioning.- I find this weight to be heavy enough to drive a wedge yet light enough to swing all day.- comes with a very nice little leather sheathCon:- I don't really have a con, but I guess I'd like a tad more swell at the bottom of the handle. Maul handles tend to be like that though.I just finished splitting a cord of wood (mixture of various types) and this thing was a joy to use.

Worth it.
I heat mostly with wood. This axe replaced a standard, decent hardware store splitting maul, and it is just night and day how much better it is. Just a total pleasure to use. Quality steel. First swing right through things that I know would have gotten the old maul caught up. Well balanced, nice handle. Good quality leather sheath. This thing is a real, noticeable step up from a basic maul. If you're like me and looking for an upgrade, but can't justify a $400 german axe, this is a great choice. Treat yourself.Only minor complaint: the handle arrived completely unsealed/unfinished/un-oiled.This isn't the one with the stupid cast makers-mark that caused shattering. The makers-mark is back in the thick un-tempered "hammer" end

Nice looking but not durable
On the first swing it split the piece perfectly. On the second swing the handle broke. I got it in December and just now used it. So the 30 day warranty is up.

Great quality, makes chopping easy
My husband raves about this ax! We split 1-3 cords of wood each season and he said he will never buy a different ax/will now always repurahcase this one as needed. It is lighter, durable, and splits wood cleanly. Half the effort of a regular splitting maul just based on it's weight.

It looks great but you can get better for far cheaper
I love Husqvarna but this was a slight disappointment. This maul so light and short that it barely counts as a maul in my opinion. It looks great, and the craftsmanship was great on mine, though I have read complaints about the head breaking. Unfortunately if you're splitting anything heavier than small rounds it's just not as up to the job as Fiskars' splitting ax, which can be bought for far cheaper and definitely works better. Most other brands mauls are suited for much heavier work.

Excellent Swedish quality for an affordable price.
Excellent quality for the price. The unique design of the wedge is outstanding. The Husqvarna axes and mauls are not Gransfors quality as far as finish is concerned, but the rounds don’t seem to mind after I touch up the edge a bit. They just keep on splitting. I would recommend getting the long handle version and short handle version. The beefy maul get tiring after a while and the 19” version is amazing at producing kindling.

1st Splitting Maul
I have always just used a standard axe to split fire wood. But now that I'm getting older, I felt I needed a little help. I watched what video's I could find comparing mauls and decided on the Husqvarna. After using it for a day, I really like it. Huge difference from the axe. Much less sticking in the roughs. It did take a few swings to get use to the design.Only con was the grain of the handle was at 45 to the axe head.I work estimate that I saved a third of the swings compared to using an axe.

Great quality, great craftsmanship, Great price point. Get them while you still can
This maul is based off the old Wetterlings design. It’s made in the same factory but slightly less fit and finish quality but is a bit less expensive. You can’t find a hand forged SwedishYou can’t find a hand forged Swedish maul for around the same price point. I live in the southeast US and it’s great for all types of oak in the region. It’s much lighter weight than a typical hardware store maul. I can split a face cord with this maul in about an hour.

Amazing splitting maul, this will last forever
Just received mine this morning and I've already split about six very knotty pine logs with it. There are some valid complaints about the handle, it's not finished at all and immediately I got some very fine slivers. I don't mind sanding and oiling the handle myself though. I'd prefer a nice tung-oil finish to some varnish they'd goop on it at the factory. The head of the maul is where the business is and this thing DOES THE JOB in spades. The weight is perfectly balanced behind the head and when you really lean into swinging it does not turn or twist at all when it hits. I'm splitting wet pine with a ton of knots in it and I've only had to swing twice once. The edge needs a bit of tuning but is sharp enough for most people right out of the box. No overstrike plate so I'm going to fashion something out of some nice leather.
