A very satisfying experience!
I was looking for something that did not require 300 lbs of speakers, wiring, two 15 amp circuits and a $15,000 investment like my current system. The Q90R handily satisfies my needs. I love it’s simplicity and it’s immersive sound. It’s well built and plays my FLAC(96) files with a smooth clarity and presence. It integrated perfectly with my 75” Samsung Series 8 and Samsung UHD Blu-ray player. I keep it’s sound mode on Adaptive...one of only 4 settings (unlike a receiver with 24 DSP settings) that sounds the best.Caveats: My tastes have changed from massive sonic power and purity to normal volume levels and no need to accurately reproduce a 12Hz organ pipe and the precision clarity of a ribbon tweeter. I also can no longer lift my 110 pound subwoofers. That said, I want to emphasize that the Q90R sounds simply gorgeous and is quite satisfying. It provides me all the thrills in movies and digital signal processing. But some will feel limited by the meager +-6db of attenuation on all settings...I find it to be just enough to find my sweet spot though by using the -6 to +6 twelve dB range. The presence and sound field produced is very satisfying and acceptable most of the time, but on occasion I want it all...you just don’t get that at this price point. Proper placement of the surprisingly fit subwoofer makes all the difference in low frequency satisfaction. Basically this is a safe bet even for audiophiles who understand what you will get at this wattage level and relative state of engineering. I suspect most anyone who purchases this system will be pleasantly surprised by what Samsung and Harmon Kardon have created...an excellent effort in a small package.I should also mention that I love the Bluetooth implementation. The sub and satellites are solidly paired with the sound bar component, and the link to my iPad that connects to my NAS holding all my music files is solid and dependable. Any music source delivered by a tablet through Bluetooth to the Q90HWR is the way to go. Easy, satisfying and relatively inexpensive...I’m talking to you VAC and Magico owners that just want a simple system for the bedroom or office. Save the mono blocks for the man cave :) !

Complete sound throughout
This Soundbar offers a “Full” sound experience. It’s not light in the a$$ in any area. I don’t understand what people complain about? First off, this is built like a tank, very surprised coming from a Sony Z9F that was extremely light compared to this. The app is ok but it does allow for adjusting the eq which is a nice addition. The subwoofer is more than adequate, I don’t understand what people are looking for? It says in the description it is an 8” subwoofer so you’re gonna get an 8” subwoofer worth of bass. Vocal/dialog is very clear and a nice change from other soundbars I have had in the past. For those saying the rears are quiet? Maybe some people have gotten bad units (it is possible) but from my point of view, the rears are nearly perfect. They are ONLY supposed to produce sound when channels 6 & 7 (or Atmos) is in use. That’s the point of these rears. If you are listening to a 5.1 track you NEVER hear the rear speakers. If listening to 7.1 or Atmos or DTS:X you will hear them WHEN those channels are being used. This Soundbar does not have “all channel stereo” as I assume this is what people might be looking for, IDK. The center channel is dialog specific which is nice as it can be + or - to adjust to even out things. As we speak I am watching Mad Max Fury Road and it sounds amazing. John Wick 1, 2 and 3 (Dolby Atmos) are next. Gladiator was awesome (DTS:X) and Avengers movies will be after that followed by star wars. The price is very steep for this unit, at $1499-$1599 it can be a hard pill to swallow for some people considering I paid $1800 total for my OLED. There are many good soundbars out there that will be a better value for most people. If you are set on a Soundbar and truly want your monies worth with unbeatable sound, then this won’t be that bad a price. The addition of eARC is the main reason I bought this Soundbar and it works flawlessly. Some people have talked about the Soundbar or rear speakers cutting in and out or popping due to being to close to their router. Well, mine sits right in front of my router and I have ZERO issues with it. (ASUS rapture AX11000). The Soundbar is connected to my 5Ghz WiFi frequency. The updates were easy and had no issues. At the end of the day, this is a pricey Soundbar but it is actually worth it, to me at least. I’m very happy with the sound, the adjustments, the bass. It’s a very complete package and I would absolutely recommend this to someone who is looking for a stout Soundbar.
