Not enough time to utilize the item.
So far, so good. Will put it to the true test this summer. While pulling the travel trailer. We really like the added feature to the 7720.

but my Rand McNally - Good Sam GPS recognized the antenna
Haven't been on a trip with it yet, but my Rand McNally - Good Sam GPS recognized the antenna, so I suspect it will work fine. I purchased it because I did not want to pay the annual subscription for the Traffic Everywhere service. Also did not want to add to my cellular data costs on my phone, to provide wifi for the Traffic Everywhere service. I think this traffic antenna will pay for itself in short order. It's a shame Good Sam and Rand McNally did not include this with the unit at purchase.

I'm not really able to rate this purchased traffic receiver because........
I'm not really able to rate this purchased traffic receiver because it arrived D.O.A. I have to believe that any product you purchase has a possibility of being bad/defective out of the box and it was my turn in the barrel to receive one. So I can not express an opinion at this time until I purchase another one for testing, hence the 3 out of 5 rating it received.

Mac Users Be Aware
This product is not as easy as I would like for Mac users to update. As a result, some features work better than others. May be a function of the challenging way you have to update your RVND dock. Overall, using the product is best suited to your co-pilot as I have not figured out how to get traffic displayed automatically as one approaches. Still, I would buy again.

Awkward location
I mounted it in my RV but it seems to be too long and when routing it it is a bit intrusive in my field of vision. Haven't really used it on a trip so can't say how it will do. I'll use it in June when I travel out west and will review it then.

Real life saver for Truckers
This has saved me a lot of time by avoiding problems ahead. Even the regular driver would enjoy being able to avoid up coming traffic jams. Easy to use, just plug and listen.

Worthless!!!!!
I purchased this item to be used with an RVND7710 in the DC Metro and surrounding area. If you dont mind the ridiculous installation of wires and other crap strung across your windshield, you are left with a receiver that doesnt pick up a signal long enough to provide any useful data. I purchased another since I could not believe that signal strength would be an issue...and unfortunately had no better results. Mind you, I am well within the dark green area of the coverage map. I would say that 10% of the traveling I do within a 40 mile radius of DC is covered by this receiver. I called Rand McNally customer support and they indicated that the White House and the Washington Monument were examples of why the reception was an issue. I didnt want to get into a political discussion with the gentleman but the laughs I got from that phone call were worth the 69.00 I spent on the receiver. Bottom line, the only thing more worthless than the receiver itself is the customer support Rand McNally provides with it. Documentation doesnt provide anything other than plug it and play it. If you really want to throw your money away....then this is the gadget for you.

FM Receiver
I decided to give this unit a chance even though it has poor reviews. Sure enough, it did absolutely nothing. However, I noticed that the signal strength was good(10), and it locked onto a local fm station, it indicated that it was receiving from a Navteq provider. and that it was receiving an 'x' number of events.Despite all this, the fm receiver would never show any Flow or Incidents even though there were traffic problems within close proximity. However, the vendor sent the unit in a very timely manner, and everything was received in good condition. It's my personal opinion that the unit was definitely receiving an adequate signal. But for reason, the software on my TND510 was not permitting the signal to be processed by the software - just a hunch!

DON'T BOTHER
Connected to a Rand McNally RVND 7715 GPS, this devices never shows any traffic events. The status display screen will show good signal strength, channel id, information provider and indicate for example 35 events received, yet the traffic display screen and map never show any traffic events. Used for three weeks so far and never a traffic event shown. The traffic status screen always shows some count of events but never anything on the traffic screen or map.
