This is not a npt fitting, the threads are not tapered
Beware, the threads in this unit are straight threads. National pipe threads are tapered. I used pvc male adapters with mip threads. Cannot stop the connections from leaking.The access port for the filter also leaks, the seal is not good. I have ordered another way strainer to the replace this one, it says it has npt also it looks from the pictures that the sockets are deep enough to have the advertised tapered pipe threads. I am using the strainer on a 50 psi max water well. Very disappointed with this product.

Nice but dirty
Has a nice finish. However, there was left over sand and corrosion from its manufacture. Also, the plug that holds the filter has a plastic gasket. It should have and would have been a better design to have an elastomeric seal.
