Presidential Shift (Corps Justice Book 4)

Twists, turns, what a wild ride this one was. I’ve been reading a new book everyday this week and so far this one.. blew me away. Superb.

C. G. Cooper is awesome! Decided to try him out for the first time two days ago and just finished book 4. Going to make dinner and may start book 5. I think I was hooked after the first chapter in book 1. Great series! Giving a 5 star review. Fast paced and action filled, I think this is my new favorite author.

A very heavy intense conspiracy with primary intent is to overtake many of the government officials with unimaginable intent. The Corps Justice group works hard to uncover those whose major goal is to hurt or destroy some of the Government's key people.

Fast paced .. lots of action .. The characters are strongly built and the story is well written., although I'm not really sure would call it a thriller.

Nice to read with some good twists and turns in the plot. The hidden characters give it more appeal !

The President wants to clean up Washington D.C. and get rid of the corrupt officials and politicians. He also needs to find the leak in his administration. To accomplish this he asks Cal Stokes and SSI to help him with his plan to clean up this mess.A bomb explosion has killed the Vice President and wounded the First Lady. Then A second attempt as been made on her life. As Cal and the team try to find why someone would want to kill the First Lady and who it might be thinks really start jumping.As the all of the twists and turns as the story unfolds will keep you turning pages. You will be surprised where this takes you.Join the team and enjoy the adventure. I think you will really enjoy this book, I know I did!!

At the end of PRIME ASSET, SSI team members had just attended funerals for their men lost in Wyoming and had a couple of drinks in memory of their friends and colleagues... Travis gets a call on his cell phone. Handing the phone to Cal, he says “It’s the President.” ...The president wants help from Cal Stokes and SSI to assist him with his plan to clean up Washington D.C. and get rid of corrupt officials and to find and get rid of a leak in his administration...A fast paced thriller, PRESIDENTIAL SHIFT will demand your attention from the beginning right up until the last page has been read. You cannot help but be drawn into the investigation with Cal and the SSI team. There is more than one guilty party in the book, but the BIG reveal will shock you! As always, the book was filled with twists and turns and there were more than a few surprises in store. I could not believe the grand finale (but it was kind of expected)!I am officially hooked on the Corps Justice series and will definitely read other books by Mr. Cooper — I just like the way he tells a story!

SEEMS CAL AND THE CREW FROM S.S.I ARE BUSY KEEPING AMERICAN'S SAFE , THE JOB THEY DO BEST. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE GOD COMPLEX? THE EVIL IN THIS WORLD ARE TO LARGE TO COUNT AND IF YOU THINK YOUR SAFE ASK OUR MEN WHO FIGHT THIS EVIL 24/7/365. ALL OF THIS GOES ON UNDER OUR NOSES EVERYDAY BUT WE DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE EVEN WHEN WE SEE IT. IF NOT FOR THESE UNKNOWN AND UNSUNG HERO'S WE WOULD BE GONE. LOOK AT WHERE WE ARE NOW. OUR PRESIDENT GIVING WEAPONS TO PEOPLE WHO THEN GIVE THEM TO ISIS. OUR OWN PRESIDENT? IS HE REALLY THAT NAIVE? HE MAYBE MORE AN ENEMY THAN FRIEND. ISN'T HE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT AMERICA AND NOT GROUP'S LIKE ISIS? WHO CAN WE TRUST? THANK GOD FOR OUR " MEN WHO HIDE". THE MEN WHO KEEP US FREE AND PROTECTED. THE MEN WHO CONTINUE TO FIGHT WITHOUT THE PEOPLE EVEN KNOWING OR BELIEVING THEY ARE THERE. WOULD YOU FEEL SAFE WITHOUT THEM THERE? THEY ARE OUT THERE, DON'T EVER DOUBT IT, BUT IF YOU DO WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO DO WHAT THEY DO? ASK YOURSELF THAT WHEN YOUR WATCHING THE NEWS. CAN YOU DO WHAT THEY DO OR BETTER YET, DO YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO DO WHAT THEY DO.

Never a dull moment. Could not put the book down and read it in a day. Now on to the next in the series.

Presidential Shift by C. G. Cooper is the perfect weekend read if you’re looking for a bit of escapism from the grind of real life. It’s the fourth book in the Corps Justice series although, given that it is the first one I’ve read, I was able to enjoy it as a standalone read. There are some references to incidents that have gone before and relationships have obviously developed throughout the series but none of this impeded on the flow of the story.The novel is driven by political intrigue and chicanery and centres on a company called SSI which is manned by ex- service personnel. The lead character, whose father founded the company, is a former Marine named Cal Stokes and he is hired by the President to investigate corruption within the US government.Events take a more sinister turn when two attempts are made on the First Lady’s life and Cal and his SSI colleagues become caught up in a domestic terrorist plot that leads them to a group of white supremacists. The main cast of characters are convincing and the banter between them believable. Some of the relationships had obviously been forged through events in previous novels which made me want to read more. My curiosity was particular piqued by Senator Brandon Zimmer, Stokes’ former foe who is now his good friend.The narrative is fuelled by action with lots of twists and turns and there is a surprising twist at the end which adds an extra punch to the story. If you enjoy losing yourself in ‘24’ style adventure then this will be your kind of thing.

What a book! Had me gripped from start to finish and I have to say I wasn’t expecting the climatic ending!! But I should have known better, having now read four of Cooper’s books. I’m desperately keen to start reading book 5 and that is my next stop. All I can say to fellow readers is “read this book. In fact read the series. It’s brilliant! You won’t be sorry”.

Now this book is a departure from the precious three in the series. In this tale Cal and SSI are asked by the President to root out criminal politicians. It sounds like a simple mission, but the turns and twists in the plot left me wondering where it would all end - and I wasn’t disappointed at the double revelation which ends the book. Great read.
