I love that the alternator is new and not a reman! It arrived safely and amazon handled the shipping better than I expected. The alternator was installed and working as it should be. The only thing I found confusing is that according to Bosch' website, this alternator has a decoupling pulley, however the one for my car (04 BMW 325iT) does not have that style pulley. I don't think this will matter one way or the other for my car but some may be picky... either way the alternator works great. Under load at idle it's putting out 14.1v! I'm happy.

Improvement over original
Starter works great. Not much room to work. Take the brake lines off of frame at passenger side wheel well to get old one out and new one in.

This starter can take the heat
I purchased an original Delphi starter from Amazon when my original starter had cranking issues. The Amazon Delphi starter has similar issues months are the install. Amazon warranty replaced it; months later the replacement Delphi starter has similar issues. Had starter tested; the starter was ok; had battery tested; ok. Replaced battery with a battery with more Cold Cranking Amps. When the starter got hot from the engine, the starter had slow cranking issues. Finally decided to change with this Bosch starter. It starts strong from the beginning and after it gets hot. Noticeable different in weight between the Bosch and the Delphi. The Bosch is heavier. Highly recommend.

Bosch manufactures high-quality replacement and OEM parts that should outlast the life of your car.
Part arrived in appropriate packaging and was ready for installation. It would be nice if Bosch included three new nuts to secure the terminals to posts but assumes that you will reuse those used on the original starter. Addition of a single use packet of anti-seize compound for the bolts that attach the starter to the bell housing of the transmission would be helpful but is not included. After reassembling the entire air intake system and most of the passenger side of the engine compartment, it is a great pleasure when the Bosch starter turns the engine over on the first try.

Fits '96 XJ
This was an exact OEM replacement for my '96 Jeep Cherokee XJ. The photos are exactly what I received. Very happy with this part. The job took a while. Had to move the AC compressor and canister to make room. Was able to remove alternator from bottom after some Tetris moves. I did have to reuse some parts from my old alternator.I had to use the plastic insulator from my old alternator so that the 12V cable had the right orientation leaving the terminal/lug.I had to use my old pulley. The pulley on the new unit was slightly larger. It's possible that it would have worked and just turned slightly slower. You'll want an impact wrench to remove/install a pulley.I had to remove the front hole sleeve. They use this in some applications where the bold is smaller, but I didn't need it. I used a C-clamp and some sockets to press it out.I had to slightly adjust the long rear hole sleeve.

Worked like a charm
As it turned out, my issue was NOT the starter, however the trouble I went to getting it installed, coupled with the fact that the starter in my 21 year old X5 was some cheap aftermarket one, I decided to leave this Bosch one installed. It works better than the one I removed, and this Bosch one is better quality, and was more affordable on Amazon than most other places I search for them on the Internet. To properly install a starter on my BMW M54 engine, you need to remove the intake plenum. Takes some effort, but doing so affords you MUCH better access than trying to do this "by feel" from under the car the way some people do it. Furthermore, when you remove that intake manifold/plenum, you can inspect other critical components that could cause your engine to run poorly, like the injectors, ISV, DISA Valve, intake air boot (legendary for cracking and thereby leaking unmetered air behind the MAF), vacuum lines, and CVV system. You should in fact use that opportunity to replace the entire Crankcase Vent Valve/CVV (you can get one here on Amazon for a far more affordable price $43, ASIN B0771XJRX5) and clean out that intake plenum. You should also use this project to clean your injectors using carb/injector cleaner, and to clean them properly you need to activate the valve - you can do that with a pigtail plug connected to a 9V battery to get the electronic valve on the injector to open so you can pump cleaner through them. Lastly, the crankshaft sensor lives right below the starter - that would be a good thing to replace as well when you have the starter out.Start works well and engine is running like new.

Bought for my 2004 Camry LE
This part fit my 2004 Camry LE. It was the perfect replacement part for it. Install was a bit of a head ache but it works. Haven't ran into any issues with it.

Stopped working when engine hot.
Bought this alternator 10 months ago for a 2003 Ford Ranger 4.0 litre engine. Worked great for the first 10 months. Then I started to see the voltage fluctuating and then no voltage output. After a week of testing and watching it, it seems that when the engine was cool the alternator worked fine. After 15 minutes of driving and the engine was hot the alternator would stop working until the engine once again cooled down. Advised Amazon and they refunded the purchase price and paid for the alternators return. Bought another alternator of Amazon (different make) and everything is working again. I think the Alternator had a fault in it somewhere and I would not hesitate to give it a second chance.

Amazon doesn't give a crap about Prme members.
This seems like a quality product except that upon inspection the pulley has a slight wobble to it.The courier service, Intelcom is somewhat sketchy, an employee stole the first one that I ordered.Amazon doesn't seem to care that I am a Prime member. They made me do the leg work of making phone calls to make sure that the second one that was re-ordered actually got delivered.I will probably CANCEL my Prime membership.

Fit my 2011 BMW X5 Xdrive 35i
My BMW X5 have always has a slow and long cranking start since I bought it used in 2013, look like it has an under powered and slow starter. In August 2019 the starter just died in my driveway fortunately the truck has 117k km. I removed the starter from the truck and opened it to see what was wrong and was shocked to see all the debris and dust inside the starter (no pictures unfortunately). The brushes was completely eaten and was rubbing on the springs and shorted the rotor.when I looked for a replacement from Bosch, it refers me to a different model that does not look like the one I have (different casing foot print) then I saw this model that look exactly the same, same size and actuator with the same number printed on the casting so I order this one although it says the part does not fit my 2011 BMW X5.When I receive the starter it was exactly identical to the one I removed and it fit perfectly. where it make the difference is when I started the truck the first time, it started the engine without effort and fast (twice the speed of the old one) just like it supposed to.Now my truck have never start this fast, I am very happy with the purchase.
