Original SONY RM-YD040 Remote Control Replacement

This RM-YD040 model was the perfect replacement for my dated Sony RM-YD035 remote. It was the Sony OEM (as far as I can tell), fairly priced, arrived on time, and worked perfectly as soon as the batteries were inserted (not included, but didn't expect them to be). Liked it so much I'm buying another one to put away for the time when my other Sony remote needs replacing! Gotta love Amazon for making it so easy to find the right item, at a good price, and delivered to your door in 2 days! Pretty amazing for us old guys! UPDATE: The second one arrived and, true to form, its as good as the first. Batteries in, everything on, all systems go! All the little annoyances of my old remotes (having to push down too hard on channel up-down, volume, and other frequently used buttons) are gone.

Do not waste money on the cheap Chinese copy cats that last about 3 months before they quit working. Buy this one.Update: Worked perfectly for a few years and then completely seemed to die. Changed batteries, still nothing. Turned TV off at the extension box. Next day everything works again. ??? Vat is das ???

I did a search for a remote that would work for a Sony KDL 46ex500 TV that my son gave us, but he never did have the remote for it, he had gotten a deal on a floor model. The search on Amazon showed several compatible remotes but this one was under $10 and it had Sony on it, model RM YD040, and it works perfect. It takes 2 AAA batteries, not included but as soon as they were installed it did all the functions. There are a few extra buttons on it probably for a DVD or Blu Ray Sony player (one is for 3D) but I mainly needed things to adjust picture size and sound choices without having to go to the TV to find menus for these things.

Purchased this for a Sony "Playstation 3D Monitor" that I had originally purchased for my Playstation 3 several years back because that monitor did not have any remote. I like the remote, it worked immediately without any setup and all the appropriate buttons work. The remote has a high quality feel and does not feel cheap. My only complaint is that the design isn't very nice, it's large (which I am just mentioning) and it has the curved "U" shape on the bottom that makes it awkward to hold. Overall I like the remote since it works and would recommend for anyone looking to replace a remote for a Sony branded TV or monitor with an IR blaster.

I needed to replace my YD075 remote. I was unable to find that model, so I took a chance on this one. PERFECT! Even better than the original. My TV (like most modern TVs) has no knobs, buttons or switches. Without a remote, you can't change channels, volume, or even turn the TV off! I had to progressively push the buttons on my remote harder and harder. It finally stopped working all together... I changed the batteries, but that was not the problem. This remote is fantastic. It has a "favorites" button which was absent on my original. I literally had to push a button 6 times on original remote to get to my favorites list. (I counted) I absolutely LOVE this replacement. Wish I ordered it a long time ago, THANKS

I bought this to replace a RM-YD055 remote on a 10+ years old 52" Sony TV. It worked just fine out of the box, no configuration needed. It does feel cheaper than the remote that came with my old TV though, but visually you can't tell the difference unless you put them side by side. After a few weeks of sporadic use, I noticed that some buttons are not working all the time and I have to press them twice/thrice/harder. Not sure how it will last...

I purchased this to replace broken remote that came with my TV 4 years ago. Some reviewers have questioned whether this product is counterfeit. I am no expert, but it looks and works like the genuine article to me. Quality appears equal to the original, and it worked just like the original without requiring any set up. Jury is still out on durability since the item is only a month old, but so far so good, and the price was very reasonable.

Defined the right replacement remote for my Sony TV. So many, but when you search your model number but I finally decided on this one and it was absolutely perfect. It works with my smarts connected devices and mediately started the TV without needing to be programmed. Do you thumbs-up, three if I had another thumb

Title sums it up. If you cast to your TV you need to go to the casting device to pause. Pushing the center to pause only appears to work with BluRay

This remote control is not as sensitive as my original one, but it still works with my TV.
