Fms PA-18 Super Cub EP PNP, 1700mm with Floats, FMM110PF

After researching and putting this off, I ordered this plane after looking at it for months.Based off the 2016 Above Alaska raffle Super Cub, this plane looks the part. I spent my time putting it together and programming my radio (Taranis QX7 with S6R receiver) and picked up some HRB 3300 4S batteries, which balance perfectly when up against the ledge in the nose (but not all the way forward past the ledge).Maiden flight was uneventful, aside from a very smooth very nice flight. Had to land in the grass due to our runway doubling as a jogging track (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it) and everyone at the field was shocked at how well it landed and did not flip over in the deep grass.Second flight I tried with flaps. This plane is off the ground in no time, and you really have to back off the power and point it down to get back to the ground with full flaps.Even with the "suspension", the tires are indeed very hard. So far I have no trouble with that though but it could be because I'm either in gravel or on the grass.The scale antenna, purely optional, broke the first time I took the wings off unfortunately. My own fault for not paying attention, and a touch of CA fixed the problem. I like the scale details like that antenna and the gas caps; the lights are great and plenty bright as well.Remember to have a 2.5mm allen for assembly. The battery plug is of the XT60 type. Make sure you go by the book on the throws; on low rate the plane is very docile. It's a head turner, and certainly large enough to be easily seen in the sky with it's 1700mm wingspan.

I especially liked this airplane because it goes together with a screwdriver, so when I am done flying in Florida in the winter, I can take it back apart & put it back into the box for traveling to Wisconsin for the summer flying months! It is a larger size plane (67") with large tires (6"+) so it takes off of grass & rough flying fields. It Flys Great!

Very well engineered and easy to build. Flies very well. I am an experienced float pilot and this Cub is a perfect size and very well made.Is it for a beginner ? I would learn on a trainer first. Have fun !

A few minor issues with parts not fitting together correctly during the build, but otherwise great flying plane!

Great plane. Rock solid design with strong wing supports and landing supports. Impressive abilities in the air including barrel rolls.
