Taking

As I type I'm listening to "Indian Summer" and if it doesn't bring you back to a place in time where you'd love to revisit (like it or not). Duff is his solo career has showed us a lot more then a raspy whiskey voice he once had. This record starts off with a pretty generic riff but the drums coming in and the slide sound make this "criminal". The music and vocals (lyrics) I think are better then round 1 of LOADED (SICK)-which I have. Trying to compare the two is like (Poison to Motley Crue) completely different (IMHO) 'cept for the voice. Great Ending to a SOLID RECORD!!

Duff and his amazing band Loaded have released another rocking collection of songs with The Taking. "Easier Lying", "She's an Anchor", and "Cocaine" are top notch songs. This perhaps their heaviest album, much closer to what you would hear in the live show or on the Episode Live disc. I have to say I do like the previous album Sick better because it had more of a diversity of style and the songs were more polished, but that could be a matter of taste. There's no doubt their most punkish album is Dark Days and if you can find the original Duff album released as "Beautiful Disease" you've found a real rare gem. For something lighter and chiller, seek out Izzy Stradlin's extensive collection. Duff plays on some of his earlier discs. Between the two of these guys, they've produced enough great music to last us a lifetime.

I am starting to realize that Duff was one of the largest contributors to the creative forces of both Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver. His records are amazing. Both this one ("The Taking") and his last record ("Sick") are incredible albums. Start to finish, this record just doesn't stop. This is one of the best albums I have bought so far this year. Why I haven't heard this record (and the last one) on the radio constantly is beyond me. Great album.

I just got my cd this morning and I LOVE IT! It's loud and proud, the way rock should be! I had to take a short break after the first play 'cause my adrenaline was getting dangerously high. lol But I'm fixing to give to go for round 2! Now if the sun would just come out so I can put the top down on my car and play the music loud enough to do it justice. :)

I got it once it came out and i am overall pleased with this album! its hard hitting and has good lyrics. i enjoy working out to this album! highly recommended!

I was quite surprised but then again I wasn't. I can see why Axl's lyrics suffered w/out Duff. He writes some catchy tunes.

This album was not what I was expecting, but I should have known better then to think it would be a rock n roll albumconsidering Duff has his roots in punk rock music, this album has elements of both. Still, was expecting something different.Id say give some tracks a listen to on you tube, then decide.

前回のsickと比べると、これは良いですね~~^^聴き入りました♪１曲目の「lords of abbadon」３曲目「Dead skin」６曲目「She's an anchor」、７曲目～１２曲目までノンストップで良かった。そしてアコースティック・ボーナストラックも良いですね♪ダフの人生、思いが描かれたアルバム。nice！
