Well developed characters, emotional journey of love and trust.
Will Daley is a successful Neurosurgeon and one of Dallas most eligible bachelors. He is also a member of the exclusive BDSM club Sanctum and is one of their most desired Dom’s. But Will is wary of any kind of serious relationship and prefers to keep his sexual escapes to one night stands. He’s been burned before cheated on and lied to he won’t be that fool again. Until he lays eyes on Bridget Slaten then his defenses begin to crumble a bit. Bridget is so not Will’s type, she’s a poor little rich girl, a brat, too much of a headache, but he wants her in his bed. At least for as long as he needs to get her out of his system.Bridget has had her own share of heartbreak, men who use her for what they can get out of her. While she craves to be loved, since never getting the love of her parents. Only their scorn and ridicule because she chose to follow her own path and be an erotic romance writer. She lives most of her life lost in her books, writing about her fantasies instead of living them. Until one day an opportunity presents itself, she needs a date for her little sister’s wedding. Will Daley agrees to take her, but he wants her to accept two weeks of submitting to him living with him in a D/s relationship. Already having a huge crush on him she jumps at the chance. Knowing full well she will fall in love with him and he will break her heart. But maybe it’s about time Bridget started to live in the moment, or will she only have a moment of Will and then be left alone again.I love this series it is one of my favorites and it never disappoints, I can’t say enough about it. Will and Bridget drew me in from their first encounter. When Will secretly topped her in their daily lives it was priceless, massaging her feet tricking her into not working. He was romantic and in love from the first moment and didn't even know it. Right from the start these two were perfect for each other, but just needed a little push to realize it. Will didn't believe in love because of his past growing up in poverty with a junky mother. Bridget wanted love so badly because she didn’t get any from her cold parents. Will constantly thought he wasn’t enough for Bridget claiming not to believe in love. When he recognizes how wrong he was I nearly squealed with delight.“When I say I love you, I mean you’re my safe place”“Tell me what love means to you” - Will asks Bridget. This was the entire theme of the book to me, two people trying to figure out what love means to them individually so they could be together. It’s not just words, its thoughts and actions. It’s putting another’s happiness over your own.I could not put this book down, it was so much fun to read. Lexi Blake manages to continue this series and make each couple's story unique. The sex scenes are smoking hot and always well written. I could read this series forever and as new characters get introduced I get eager for more. Like Will’s best friend Mitch and Will’s sister Laurel I am looking forward to their novella for sure. Maybe we can look forward to reading Kai and Amy, Bridget’s sister in an installment so many possibilities. Besides the introduction of new characters I was so happy to hear from some of our favorites, especially Ian, love him he is too much. If you have not tried this series it is so worth it to start from the Dom Who Loved Me and work your way to this one you won’t be disappointed. They are all sexy, fun reads with lots of

Sassy, sweet, funny, hot! and emotional
We originally met Will in Dungeon Games: A Masters and Mercenaries Novella when he unwittingly dates a serial killer's accomplice. Bridget is Serena's best friend, and is introduced in The Men with the Golden Cuffs (Masters and Mercenaries Book 2) . After Will's disaster, he joins Sanctum. Bridget is dipping her toe in the BDSM water to see if she finds it to her liking. Will has a serious crush on Bridget, who thinks Will is a major womanizer. Will is killing himself to get Bridget to notice him, when a perfect opportunity presents itself. Bridget needs a date to her sister's wedding, and is asking all the doms at the club to help her out. Will makes it clear that he will be the only man to take her up on her offer.Oh. My. Gawd! These two are so, so perfect together. Bridget has a lot of self-esteem issues (Serena calls her Eeyore at one point) due to her craptastic parents and equally awful extended family, plus a couple of ego-killing relationships. Bridget hides her issues behind a seriously sarcastic, scathing demeanor, and is only herself with her closest friends. She walked away from the family fortune and has made a career for herself, while creating her own "family" with Chris and Serena. She is tough and forthright, and takes no crap. Underneath, though, is a soft center she tries desperately hard to protect. Will grew up very poor, with an addict for a mother, which left him caring for his 3 younger sisters. Will is hyper-focused, and likes to be needed. He has tried to distance himself from his childhood and from his poor choice of his last sub, the serial killer's girlfriend. He feels the sting of humiliation deeply, and is perceived as kind of aloof and cold. Get beneath that surface, though, and whoa! Domalicious! There is so much good going on in Cherished. Ian is on the short trip to madness, with the impending birth of his and Charlotte's baby. He's spouting off about Kevlar baby carriers and bulletproof jogging strollers. Good times!Maia makes a drive-by appearance, and yeah, she really is the female Ian Taggert. Without a heart. She seems okay with it, though. I can't wait to see what happens with her.Cherished has a really strong storyline and uber-smokin' smexy times. Underlying that, though, is a strong love story. Will and Bridget fit each other beautifully, and it was a pleasure to watch their story play out.It has to be said - Devinshea is a d-bag name! Lolol! If you have read the Thieves series, you will love this mention! (I lost about half an hour pondering the level of havoc that could be wreaked by a fertility god at a BDSM club! The possibilities...)Bottom line - I wholeheartedly recommend the entire Masters and Mercenaries series. I LOVE these books, and reread them often. Cherished could probably be read as a standalone, but you owe it to yourself to start at the beginning, and read them all.

Bridget is just brilliant and bratty I LOVE her.
Yay we finally got Bridget's story and to top it off Will got a happy ending too, well you know after he stopped being an idiot and got over himself...lolI have to say this was a really enjoyable Masters and Mercenary short story especially when Big Tag got to have fun as well because as true fans of this series every single story is really about Ian Taggert and everyone else is just side-stories...lol.Bridgets dad was something else, and seriously Starr had some balls trying to get Will to testify on her behalf again I love the connections between all of these stories.

Brattastic Brilliance
Cherished touched my heart in so many ways. Will was a hard shelled and lost man in many ways left broken and unsure of himself, and then you have the brattastic Bridget who has the strength of her sarcastic venom to protect her vulnerable heart. This book was a lot of fun to read, seeing that even the mighty Ian Taggart can get things wrong but the way he fixes it is Epic. These novellas of "normal" quiet life around the Men and Women of McKay -Taggart make me smile, laugh out loud and sometimes roll my eyes in disbelief.
