Worth having a small stockpile
This was my first time using liquid metal, after much research I found that on paper, this was better than its competitors, so I gave it a go.It is worth noting I am an experienced PC Builder and unfortunately, due to global warming, summers have been hotter than ever and not only did the computer temps concern me but I was also finding performance suffered from my CPU.I have a cooling loop and my temps would usually sit at about 40-50C idle in the summer, and cap at 95C at peak, only further flaming the issue. So going from MX4 thermal paste to this, the results were, I kid you not a 20C drop at peak! 15C drop idle bringing temps down to 25-35C. Unfortunately, I will need to replace it frequently as it was applied to copper, which will mark it, no harm no foul though. Please double check what material you plan on applying this to before using it.When you do use it, paint it on carefully, use tape or what ever precaution you have available to you to make sure it is only applied specifically to your planned area of work. Apply it thinly, but cleanly, like for a picky kid who wants butter all the way to the edges of the bread on both contacts, but without so much as a smear down the edges and you're golden.
