I always keep a nutsie log as it is an irresistible favorite to many of my back yard birds. It is especially great for attracting woodpeckers. Pine Tree Farms makes the best nut and seed logs.

Would be 5 stars if it wasn't so difficult to remove it from the plastic case its in.

I reached out to Pine Tree Farms and asked how to remove the seed cylinder from the plastic container. They responded very quickly, advised to place container in hot water, then run butter knife inside the container. And BINGO, it worked. I thanked them and included the above photo.

EVERYBODY loves this log: birds, squirrels, raccoons. I feed them all!

These are by far the best nut logs on the market. I have tried other brands and flavors, but these are the ones the birds eat and that last. Other nut logs of similar size are not as densely packed with "heavy" nut meats so they are easily demolished by the flocks of birds I get EVERY day throughout the year. These withstand the rain and snow as well as summer sun. I have periods of time that the crows, band-tailed pigeons, flickers, downy woodpeckers, chickadees, juncos, towhees,and jays will eat one of these every few days during migrations spring and fall..then it will fall of to a lull of one every one or two weeks for the remainder of the year. Not cheap, but other nut logs disappear in a day due to less dense nut meats or are ignored completely to rot because the birds do not like them.

But the Woodpeckers especially like it. Fits perfectly in WBU cylinder (cage) feeder.
