Natural Light Solar Attic Fan 48-watt Bronze

After reading several articles by academics about this kind of fan not being effective (along with rebuttals from roofers who called “BS”), we installed one anyway. WE LOVE THIS FAN! It is definitely cooler upstairs. We live in the Mile Hi City (Denver) and the 300 sunny days each year takes a toll on the roof and makes the attic space like an oven. This radiates down through the ceiling into our bedrooms, even though we have blown-in insulation that’s supposed to be best-in-class.. We have 3 large attic gable vents and open our windows during the cool nights, but the heat build-up was just too much to overcome. We did consider a more expensive whole house fan but thought with all of our sunlight this solar attic fan would be effective AND more energy efficient. I think you have to consider your location to come to the right decision about attic cooling, but for sunny, dry climates this is a winner!

I installed one of these solar fans on my office 3 years ago when I put on a new metal roof, and it is still running - you cannot hear it which is another bonus. Highly recommend. I've not tested the temperature in my attic however. If you're replacing your roof, that's the perfect time to get these as I got my roofer to include installation at no add'l cost. Be sure to buy the thermostat attachment so it doesn't run when it's cool.

I had the unit professionally installed in a little more than one hour. The unit is very quiet and the 25 year warranty gives me peace of mind that it was a good investment. Too early into the process to access it's efficiency right now but am hopeful it will accomplish good cooling to the attic.

Had roofers install with new roof in Nov. I ordered the fusible link and thermostat as well and evidently has not been warm enough to activate fan so have never heard it run. All appears to be high quality construction.Went in attic today and fan was running but was quiet. Still very happy with fan and how well it is venting attic.

The price was a little high but it has a great warranty and seems to be keeping my attic cooler . Also they should supply a pattern for hole size and screw locations when you use the 16" hole installation .

This is well made and the company is proud of this product. Wish everything made this well with the thought that went into making this. My house is cooler.
