This Puppy Rocks
Received this today and promptly replaced my failing TP-Link TL-WR941ND. It was dropping connections with both 3rd party firmware and stock. I went though the setup that was extremely easy and great for a novice. The included card with information to go and take to your computer really made it a comprehensive package that I hadn't seen before. I went though the advanced settings and setup as I wanted and had no issues. I then saved the configuration, downloaded the firmware and updated again with no issues. After setup I went straight for the one AC device I have, an iPhone Plus and did a speed test which resulted in almost maxing out my 50mbps service. I then tested by pulling up YouTube on a total of 4 devices with no issues.I'm extremely happy thus far and for the price, it offers an extreme value. A sexy little package and I'm getting way better signal strength than with my TP-Link that even had upgraded antennas. That was a total shocker since some reviews stated that the signal stunk. It is actually very good. Maybe those were defective units or user error, but this thing kicks butt. All in all, if you're looking to upgrade to ac but don't have over 600mbps connection, this puppy will do the job for a fraction of the cost of others on the market.Update 12/12/2016:This router is still rocking. I have more wifi devices on it than ever and it never has any issues. I have a ring doorbell pro constantly connected, 2 fire hds, 3 iPhones, 3 fire TV's, a Samsung smart tv, Xbox one, brother printer, two laptops and I'm probably forgetting some devices lol. It always delivers and signal strength is great in my 1000sqft home. Oh I even have outdoor Ring stick up cam connected just fine. I can't believe you can pick this up for under $20.Update 8/3/2018I had upgraded to a TP-Link Tri-Band router that crapped out a last week. I had to put this baby back into action and unbelievably it was able to handle my now total of 23 wireless devices for a few days until I got a replacement. This thing really is great. It's only downfall is range. However it still connected to my Ring cam I now have in the driveway. If you have a small apartment and can pick this up on the cheap - do it.

I bought this one because i used to like D-link products and they are never in stores anymore
Do not buy!I am a technology professional and I go through a lot of routers either in my own home and office or for clients. I bought this one because i used to like D-link products and they are never in stores anymore. D-link used to be good stuff but if this product is any indication you can look right past the brand. Certainly do not consider this product.Specifically1) The initial setup should have taken maybe 5 minutes, as I said i do many like this, Instead i had to do a factory rest on a new unit and then a firmware update to even get it to work at all.2) The range is abysmal. If I could think of something worse than abysmal i would use that word instead. Simply the worst range i have ever experienced in almost 20 years of working with wireless devices. I can't even sit outside 15 feet as the bees fly from the router.3) normally I get 9 months to a year out o a router before i find need to reboot them from time to time., and I usually put up with that for a few months before I get annoyed enough to replace it. A couple months in I need to reboot daily and am already anticipating my next unit.To be fair the speed if great for newer devices when they can connect but really how is going ten times the speed of your internet connection any better than going 5 times? Especially if you have to site right next to the damn thing. I am sure there are plenty of devices out that can deliver equivalent speed without the headache and which will allow me to enjoy a beer on the deck while I peruse amazon.Seriously, in the time it took you to read this you could already have found a better product. A soon as I am done writing it i intend to as well. As soon as my replacement arrives I intend to see how well this one flies when tossed from my deck.

great router
I needed to replace my Belkin n600 router pooped out due to my kids making it fall on the carpet to many time, plus at the time i lived in a 3 story town house where the signal would get lost in the 3rd floor, i needed something that had some power to it, so i did my research on routers and decided to try this one as it was in my price range plus i did not really want to go back to Belkin, got it on time and the box is really small and its a lot smaller than i thought, it reminds me of a small bathroom trash can. The only really bad things i can say about it is there are no activity lights on the front its either green for good or amber for no connection which is not really a bad thing but i like to see lights move telling me something.and the web interface is overwhelming lots of options to play with and that's a lot coming from a person who works in software support. i will say the so called app really sucks. the only thing it does it helps you connect the router and that's it. it really does nothing else. You can have whats called a share point site where if you connect a ext hard drive to the router and share you media from it it a little tough to setup due to not really the best instructions on the site. You have access to it from a computer, or an app on your phone. you can also sign up for thedlink site and you can check on your router from anywhere. all in all its a great router for the money.
