Comfy and warm, but not too warm!
I love this blanket! It’s lightweight, soft and warm, but doesn’t get too hot. Also, it doesn’t wrinkle up, so making the bed is much easier than with cotton blankets. If you let your fur baby sleep on your bed, you’ll love that hair just brushes right off! It’s priced very well, too. I think if you try it, you’ll be happy you did!

Perfect blanket
I first bought one of these 16 years ago. When I redecorated the bedroom I bought the gray one. Have always loved these blankets. They get more supple with use. They are hard-wearing, so soft, and come in nice soft colors. Even the old 16 yr old blanket is still very usable. Its one of those things that you will have for many years to come

Awesome
These are the best blankets. They are light weight and very soft. Great blanket to cuddle under.

Warm, soft, durable
Lightweight, warm, durable. As long as you was according to instructions it will last. No issues in my HE washer. Do not wash every week or it will fall apart. Purchased queen but should have gotten king, would fit better [I like to tuck end and it just fits] . Very satisfied and would buy again

Great Blanket
We only use Vellux Blankets. We do not like anything heavy so this is perfect for the winter months. Extremely warm and soft. Holds up very well in the wash. When drying use Air Fluff only. Too much heat can ruin the blanket.

Tears
These blankets were very soft but began to tear like they were being cut

... used Vellux blankets for a long time and really like them. My only complaint is the sizing
I have used Vellux blankets for a long time and really like them. My only complaint is the sizing. I wish they had a full size instead of the full/queen size. The full/queen size is huge on my full bed. I think it is actually a queen blanket. The blanket almost reaches the floor on both sides of the bed. I am always tripping on it.

Holes from the dogs
I bought this specifically for my dogs because they must sleep under blankets or they go under mine. I noticed small cigarette like holes. We don’t smoke so I think the holes are from their nails so this is a disappointment. I like that I do not see a ton of pet hair trapped. Haven’t washed yet, but will soon. Hope the holes don’t get bigger.

The soft vellux peels away from the mesh fibre
I just had an old blanket like this one that literally came apart in dime sized pieces and smaller filling my washing machine. Upon inspection of my brand new (I have washed it once prior to use) I notice a small opening/hole in the vellux that is exposing a mesh backing. It would appear, that given time, the same thing will occur to this one. For this reason, and at the price of 80 bucks I cannot recommend it as a solid purchase and would not recommend washing it more than it's initial.

I was DELIGHTED with my vellux blanket——until....
I opened the package and was overjoyed—my new blanket was lush and gorgeous.. I immediately put it on my bed and thought how wonderful it was going to be to use this blanket most of the year.. I was bothered by the tag since it was on the top of the blanket, so I removed it. I shouldn’t have...My eyes are not great these days, so I didn’t see the flaws at first. I first noticed the sheared fibers on the blanket, and then my eyes found the spot they had come from. I’m not sure HOW this damage was done.I thought there was only one balded/damaged spot at first (i took photos of the first 3)—but eventually found FIVE.Since I removed the product tag I am almost certain I can’t return it. So I decided to treat the bald spots with “fray stop” hoping they would retard any additional fiber loss in those areas. The damage must have gotten past quality control—the damaged areas are all near the top in somewhat of a line. I am very disappointed, but what can I do now?

Disappointing
Ordered one, which arrived early, but was disappointed when I removed it from its clear plastic zip bag. The VELLUX logo was clearly visible on the blanket; the product had obviously been left in the sunlight. I reported this and received a replacement. When I opened this new one, I could detect a strange odour, like an old mattress and some dark staining, which led me to think that the package had probably encountered water. But since I needed the blanket, I decided to wash it to remove the odour and dark marks, which seems to have worked but there also small holes (1/4 inch to 1/2 inch) in the blanket. Now I think I will keep the original one as it only has the imprint of the VELLUX logo, and return the second one. At $50 plus tax, I am disappointed. I ordered this in the first place to replace a VELLUX blanket that my mother had purchased over 30 years ago, but which was in pretty good condition albeit faded. I have returned the second blanket and kept the first and hopefully will receive some sort of compensation for this as I have to make sure the blanket is upside-down in order not to see the imprint of the logo on the blanket.

Not like it use to be
I purchased this blanket for my sons birthday as he wanted another Vellux blanket like the one he previously owned. Unfortunately when he opened his gift he said that this was not anything like the one he use to own. I washed it a few times already and it has not gotten any softer. I am wondering how many times it needs to be washed in order to be like the older vellux blankets or are they made different these days?
