Nice piece of equipment
LIked the concept, thankfully had a guy who was usig one fill me in on nuances and helped me to dial in for conditions. Defintely straight forward and seems once set, good to go though

This release is the real deal!
If you have ever been dragging light fish (like Crappie) around on your troll for 20 minutes (not realizing you have a hook-up), this release can end that problem. There is a learning curve on this release to get the feel right - but it isn't difficult. Once you have it working right, you will haul in more fish. You can set a stout vertical release tension and a light horizontal tension which lets a Crappie take the lure off the release. Then the heavier vertical tension releases your rod which springs up insuring proper hook up and rod play, giving you time to grab the rod to continue the retrieve (I fish 2 rods alone on a tiller controlled boat). Of course, with big fish, you can set the horizontal release higher. I obviously love this gizmo and the Canucks that make it.

The best....but
These are great releases but they do have one issue as others have pointed out. The wire is either of a low quality, the wrong type or most likely just not beefy enough. I use 12# balls and after only a few uses the clip broke. I did not lose he ball but while the balls are not cheap my Fish Hawk probe is $350. My friend had had several brake but he uses even heavier balls at 15#’s. I believe when they broke he was using 12# balls, since then they remove the included wire and add new, double the diameter wire, I believe stainless. They will modify mine for me.

The best release ever.
I have been fishing this release for the last two seasons and am absolutely sold on them. Cut false releases down to almost non-existent and when I do have one it's not the fault of the release. Took me awhile to find just the right tension adjustment I wanted but I was able to fine tune them perfectly. Very durable and while some whine about the price, I think it's money while-spent. I use five wraps and that has been working very well for me. I will never go back to a pinch type release, not even as a back up. I keep one extra in the boat in case I lose my whole set-up. Considering all the other expenses involved with lake fishing, this little release is a small price to pay for putting more fish in the boat. I highly recommend.

I’ve tried lots of other releases and these are the best yet. Really easy to use.

Only one issue
Ill start by saying that functionally of this release works great. The adjustability of the release tension and load pressure is awesome. Ive caught countless lake trout and salmon on these releases in the last year. I did have one issue last month. I run 15lb balls and almost lost one because the center wire broke and lost the ball, luckily inside the boat. I was surprised because they dont get abused other than using heavy balls. I have to think it was a fluke that it broke. Needless to say i didnt hesitate to order a replacement.
