La Receta de la abuelita (Spanish Edition)

This book caught my eye because the recipes are so similar to the food my mother-in-law cooks in Iztapalapa, D.F. It's like I've stepped back into her kitchen and back into that part of Mexico City- chiles cuaresmeños stuffed with tuna, tortas de papa, romeritos...even the photograph of the pozole looks like it could have been taken at her kitchen table. The recipes are authentic and the few I've tried already have worked great. Some of the photos would have benefited from better lighting, but every recipe has a picture of the finished dish and the detailed photos of preparing cactus paddles or charring vegetables are helpful for non-Mexican cooks. Expensive, but worth it. These are real recipes that people eat every day.Este libro me encanta. Trae recetas auténticas de la región. Lo compré porque trae muchas recetas para los mismos platillos que prepara mi suegra en Iztapalapa en el Distrito Federal. Trae muchas fotos y las instrucciones son fáciles de entender. Esto sí es comida casera y se ve en las fotos. Viví poco tiempo en México, lo que más extraño es la comida y con este recetario ya puedo preparar los mismos platillos sabrosos.

Although, the print and binding quality are not the greatest the recipes are. There’s detailed explanations of the recipes. The recipes turn out great.

The book gives very good recepies to follow. It also gives you measurements on how much of an ingredient to add. To me the book overall did not have any recepie that I was not familiar with. I thought it would have new varied receipies from what I usually cook. It is a good book for people who want to learn how to cook Mexican food. It is divided into different sections and offers some pictures of certain recepeis.

I wasn't aware that the Author had a YouTube account. I find the recipes very simple, and common. The title "La Receta de la Abuelita" made me buy it, I was expecting something more Abuelita type. This was more like a Tia or Tio recipe. I am not convinced I showed my mom the book and she replied "what in the world is this" some of the meat looked really bad. I will not return the book as I'm not one of those people that just return stuff just because I don't like the content.If you are Mexican DO NOT buy this book, you will be disappointed. If you are an American or from other Nationality this is not the way all Mexicans cook.

Excellent recipe book. Has all if the traditional ingredients that people from Mexico City and surrounding areas typically use. The step by step descriptions are very detailed. I'd recommend this book to anyone beginner or pro. They truly are recetas de la Abuelita! PS : you'll need to be able to read Spanish. Not sure if there is an English version. Excelente recetara! Realmente sin recetas de la abuelita!

I have been a follower of Yessica on You tube; and she is a great Cook and I love that she came out with the book because i would get lazy writting her recipes down. This book is great it has everything from Main dishes to Dessertsa and the best part is that they are 100% mexican recipes.I would really recommend this book :)

Recetas que están para chuparse los dedos

creo que le falta una mejor redaccion , mejores imagenes, mejor calidad al libro fisico, considero que el precion fue muy alto para la calidad del artugulo, tanto en contenido como la misma calidad del libro.

Libro interesante para quien le guste la cocina mexicana, tiene las recetas básicas de la cocina mexicana.Con la ventaja que la autora tiene recetas en video en su canal de youtube.
