Sweet stories and Good Intro to Comic Artists
I played and enjoyed Dream Daddy when it came out, and I bought this comic on a whim when I saw C. Spike Trotman listed as a writer. All the art and storytelling fit the tone of the game, so if you like the game you'll enjoy the comics. This book has the additional benefit--to me at least--of introducing a dozen or so independent artists who I would not have encountered otherwise. Having seen their work with characters I know, I will now seek out their other works!

Content: wonderful. Book construction: small errors
Pros: First I wanted to say that I LOVE these comics! Damien is my favorite so "Let the right dad in" was the winner for me but all the stories have their own charm. There's also great art inbetween the stories and a poster in the back of the book's cover.Cons: the book I got has a bunch of pages that are attached at the bottom, I'm gonna have to take a exacto knife to them. It's not the worst thing in the world but I figured it's worth mentioning.I still definitely recommend buying this book if you liked the game though!!

Not very interesting
What we have here is a group of stories, individual ones. Each a different story and each one done by a different artist. Most of the artists are really pretty bad. Most of the stories are pedestrian at best and very uninteresting. And I am being very kind here, I was barely entertained by this conglomeration of drivel. I am not certain what my expectations were, but they were not met. Really, the art turned me completely off.

Fun if you're a fan of the game
I have to start this out by saying I used to be OBSESSED with Dream Daddy the video game. I never actually owned the game but I would spend HOURS watching people play on youtube, honestly it was great. So, as you can imagine I was super excited when I saw that there were comics based on the game. I do have to say though if you’ve never seen or heard of the video game you may not enjoy this as much. You’re not going to get a bunch of details about the characters and whatnot as these are just 5 short comics based on the characters.Since I am familiar with the characters and game, I was a fan of the comics and thought they were super cute. While it is called Dream Daddy, you don’t really get any dad-on-dad action in regards to steam. In fact, I believe there’s only one kiss in the entirety of the five comics which I was a little surprised about, to be honest. Definitely not a spicy comic if you were worried about that. As I stated before if you’re not familiar with the game you may not even know that it’s based on a dad dating game but it is LGBTQ+ but light with the themes.I found it interesting that the creators worked with many different illustrators and colorists and because of this there are several different art styles included in the comics which was fun. I really felt like I got a sample of the different artists.I’d definitely recommend this to those that have played the game before. I think those that just stumble upon this might not enjoy it as much because it is lacking background info and plot details. These are really just little bonus scenarios to the game.

This is great and so is the game!
I was provided this graphic novel (as an advanced reader copy) by NetGalley. All views expressed in this review are my own.I wanted to pick up the Dream Daddy graphic novels (yes, plural as I originally read each separately on my kindle) due to the fact that I played and truly enjoyed the video game of the same name, which I believe was developed by Game Grumps. If you are trying to decide whether to read the graphic novel or play the game first, I highly recommend that you play the game before reading; while it is possible for the graphic novel to stand on its own, it is mostly an add-on to the game to give those who played and enjoyed the game some extra fun stories involving the characters.Overall, I think that "Dream Daddy" is very enjoyable, especially having played the game. It gave me more scenes to enjoy, which I did, but I did enjoy the game more (I definitely recommend you play the game after reading this if you haven't already! It's so fun and corny and cute!). My absolute favorite thing to see in this graphic novel was that each story/issue had a different art style that worked perfectly with the theme of that particular story. It was also lovely to see how the characters could be represented differently across the different art styles while still remaining inherently the same.I rated the first story "Much Abird About Nothing" 5 Stars. I really liked that it wasn't just a story featuring the romance-able dads (as the other stories are) but the main character of the game is the focus of this story. I gave stories 2-4, 4 Stars each, and I gave the final story 3 Stars. Overall, I would rate this collection 4 Stars, because it was a fun read. If you're looking for a deep graphic novel with an important message, this probably isn't the one for you. It definitely works as a supplemental work to the game, which I believe would be its intended purpose; however, I do think you could read this with no knowledge of the game and still enjoy it, but might be a bit confused at moments.

More Dream Daddy goodness
Everything I wanted from a DD comic - more charming “slice of life” stories with the DD dads. Also extra tidbits of backstory for all the dads, which is lovely and adds to their characters. Can’t help but read with a grin on your face - 100% recommend this comic if you’re a fan!
