Thomas and Friends: The Adventure Begins (Thomas & Friends) (Pictureback(R)) Paperback – February 10, 2015

Excellent book based on an absolutely incredible movie. The book is fun. It's a good read, and the pictures are very nice. The book is very well adapted from Andrew Brenner's screenplay. Would highly recommend!

A great story based on everyone's favorite number 1 engine. The book is based on the original stories by the Rev. W. Awdry. I enjoyed reading the story and looking at the great pictures, This book is great. I can't wait until the DVD to be released on March 3, 2015 (Only at Walmart). :)

Grandsons Noah and Levi loved this book. Especially since it told them how Thomas became a beautiful blue color. Great story!

Very nice and vivid colors.

This is a great little background story for Thomas. It includes some details from the original Rev. W. Awdry books. The story takes place when Thomas first joins the railway with Sir Topham Hatt. He is not considered very useful by Gordan but Edward is kind to him and he ends up helping James and is rewarded by getting his own branch line with Annie and Clarabel.The story is a bit inaccurate as to the original series. For instance in the original books, there is no reference to Thomas ever being green, James comes to the railway after Thomas (Edward, Gordan, and Henry are the first three engines joined by Thomas and then James), and Henry is actually walled up in the tunnel. The information about James being black and having wooden brakes is accurate and a fun little bit of information as well as how when Thomas helps James he earns his own Branch Line. I like that this story is written more in the spirit of the original stories and that it highlights the first engines. There is mention of a Judy and Jerome - the breakdown trains to help get James back on the track. I suppose they represent the trains before Harvey and Rocky came around?We enjoyed the story and this would definitely be a terrific addition for any Thomas fan - especially if you do not have the original books - I believe they are out of print but you can buy them used on Amazon - I did. The main reason I gave this book only 4 stars (the differences from the original book are not that big of a deal) is because the picture quality is poor. The pages are very thin which has made the picture quality grainy. I do not expect thick glossy paper at this price point but the pictures need to be brighter. Several of the pictures are quite dark and even blurry on one page making it difficult to distinguish details. Overall, I would recommend this little book. Happy cuddle-time reading!!

After checking this out multiple times from the library for my 2 year old son, he had to have his own copy. He loves that Thomas and James used to be painted different colors!

On the kindle the print is really tiny. I could barely make out some words and it wouldn't let me enlarge the print at all.

Can't understand the negative comments left about this book. It's a paperback held together with 2 industrial staples as used to hold other publications together. The paper isn't thin and the graphics are good.

My grandson loves all things about Thomas and friends. I enjoyed reading out of this book to him

印刷、紙質全て質が悪すぎます。★を１つもつけたくありません。家庭用のコピー機の方がまだマシです。またカラーコピーするにしても、話しが途中で切れているのが最悪。日本語版の絵本で最後に出てきたトーマスの前に1番だったグリンが出てきていません。日本語版は値段は800円〜1,000円程度だったと思うので「どうしても英語でこの本を読みたい！」という人以外は全くおすすめしません。

Nice for making my kid read books.

A fantastic book!! I read this to my class and they loved it. Its a fantastic tale to start of the most well know Children's programme.
