Great read
This is very well written. I found the details of his life growing up and going to school and working very interesting. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is I find the passion about health and taxing sugary sodas while he supplies unlimited free candy to his employees and the passion for reducing carbon emissions while he flies planes and helicopters for leisure and to ski a little hypocritical when he claims to lead by example, not such enjoyable reading.

Amazing read
I cant believe that Bloomberg had less opportunity to become president of the US than the other businessman, He certainly seems to not fully being an organized person as you would think considering the amount of money and reputation on the business world, but he truly represents a great person with strong positive values, understanding of the world interconected and passion for making a difference in this world. At least that is the perspective of himself in this book.Great read.

A must read for anyone who has lots of resentment over his or her mediocrity or narcissists
This autobiography detailed major events in Michael Bloomberg’s life as well as his subtle transformation from a middle-class descent who doesn’t see himself above and beyond others (even with self-proclaimed light degree of inferior complex) into an aggressive entrepreneur who knows when to pull the trigger. With low level of neuroticism and a light sense of humor, Mike illustrated how Bloomberg Terminal, a product that fulfills the demand of the public, brought him his fortune. His entrepreneurship philosophy echoes with that of many entrepreneurs - find a problem that needed to be solved, solve it for the public, then sell your solution. A lot of people nowadays develop depression or resentment in life because they chased their dream/passion that doesn’t involve “solving problems for others”. The press presents him as a wall street billionaire but neglected the fact that he was once an employee who was willing to work in sales when others considered sales to be a pleb’s occupation - to payoff his student loans. Wealthy inheriters could probably also learn a thing or two from his entrepreneurship despite the fact that they may have real estates or dividends rolling cash in 24/7. He is kinda like Steve Rogers, but he got money instead of muscles as a result of his transformation, which is probably a superior outcome. His writing style is pretty reflective of his character - calm, light, not overly emotional or nassasistic. A good case study for modern day people who think one needs to be cray cray like tay tay to get the mahnay. Read this autobiography and you can learn to calm your ballz and stay grounded.

Good
This book is interesting in that it gives you insight into who Bloomberg is, how he thinks, what he’s accomplished, where he came from. At times he seems a bit full of himself, but maybe that’s what happens to human beings who’ve achieved success like he has. The danger is overconfidence, as he gets into national politics. He may not be as careful or as thoughtful as he needs to be.

Classic American business success story
I love Mike Bloomberg's optimism about America his spirit, drive and energy and relentless work ethic that made Bloomberg the media powerhouse it is today. There are no unions at Bloomberg because everyone is well paid taken care of like family not very common in today's landscape. Mike is a technology revolutionary by modernizing bond and stock market reporting via proprietary Bloomberg boxes dedicated to delivering financial information.

Intro to Michael Bloomberg
Bloomberg‘s biography he wrote just before he ran for mayor about 1998 and then updated it maybe half a year ago with a couple extra tidbits just before running for President.Seems like he was trying to sell himself as a person. He gave a couple tidbits on his life though most of the book was observations and philosophy of life and very very light on details of his accomplishments or problems or timeline etc.Smart guy. His wealth seems endless. A do gooder. We're lucky to have him here in the USA.

Learned a lot of business lessons and about his approach that is rare these days
If you like Bob Iger‘S or Phil Knight’s biography you’ll love this read. It’s an easy read because it’s reads like you’re in a casualConversation with Michael Bloomberg and it has dozens of great business lessons from his own experiences. Great read to learn about his journey and I think it will be easily applicable to modern day entrepreneurs. Must read and no way you regret reading this book

Inspiration from an Innovator
I think Bloomberg is a great writer and definitely had a story worth reading. His life spans three careers and several decades to achieve unprecedented wealth. I googled it, he’s worth like 50 billion. My favourite parts of the book were where he talked about his leadership style and how he is basically a servant-leader. For all his net worth, he talks about how doing good in business is actually good for business. But his motivation for doing good is simply always about doing good just for the sake of making the world a better place, and being an example for his children and grandchildren. his passion for helping others includes such interesting forays into analysis about women in the workplace, getting more low income minorities in top schools, and helping everyone regardless of race, sex, or class. He analysis the shortcomings by collecting data on these subjects and tries to fix them. He’s such an independent passionate, innovative go-getter, just trying to make the world a better place that it’s so inspiring to read. When he talks about all the good he’s done both as the mayor of New York City and through Bloomberg philanthropy, there were times I literally got goosebumps because he’s so inspiring and his vision is so powerful. I like how he went through his whole life, beginning with the important values his parents instilled in him as a child and explains the importance of hard work. He stresses the importance of hard work through tour every day and stage of his career. More than once he tells us he’s AT WORK by 7 am. Not 9am because there’s always trying to out work the competition. And at work by 7 am six days a week, every decade of his life staying for twelve hour daysI wish he would have touched more on his time as mayor and I wish he would have went a bit more into detail about that era of his life. I really felt like he just reflected on those twelve years instead of actually taking us through them and allow us to experience them with him. Parts of the book dragged on and could have been shortened a bit, in my opinion. His writing style does make his writing easy to read though, he’s a great writer, too. He talks about his time as a tech entrepreneur and keep it’s interesting and understandable, which is hard to do when writing about tech because most readers, like myself “don’t know a protocol from a hole in the wall” (as Edward Snowden said).

Next president?
Bought it to look into Bloomberg's life and how he managed to build his "empire" after he announced that he'll run for president in 2020 (German, still interested in US politics). Found it pretty interesting to see how he managed to rise through the ranks through hard work (favorite day is Sunday: six days of work ahead). And how important courage is, courage to go your own way even if everyone else says your wrong.Highly recommend it!

very inspiring
I was inspired by the journey Michael has taken from a modest background to Hugh financial & business success but still maintained a great love for philanthropy . Hopefully our business degrees in universities around the world are using similar stories to inspire our emerging business leaders to take a similar approach as they develop their careers.

Really interesting book...
I'm a fan of autobiographies and this is really good read. It tells the story of Michael Bloomberg and it's written in a really engaging way. Very hard to put down once you start. You don't need financial knowledge to understand the book, it is written really well and I think it'll appeal to a wide range of readers. It doesn't go into a huge amount of detail but is written in quite an open manner.Highly recommended!
