Things that led me to buy this game.
I remember shopping in a Goodwill store over a month ago only to discover what I thought was a game or movie. Apparently, it was a collection of the videogame soundtrack in 2 discs with a bonus dvd for: Blaz Blue Calamity Trigger. So I googled it. I discovered that there are multiple installments for the Blaz Blue Series. And read all the details. Overa month later I made my Amazon account. And accidentally, bought Blaz Blue Continuum Shift Extend for my PlayStation 3. It took a long time for me to get used to the gameplay. But after that, it was smooth sailing. The main purpose of this purchase was to get my 19 year old nephew into this game series. Knowing that he is a huge anime fan, I thought that this game would catch his interest. And since he has a PlayStation 4 I'm pretty sure he'll buy the latest game in the Blaz Blue Series. Only if interested of course. The only reason I didn't give this a 5/5 rating is because of the difficulty I had when I first bought the game. But what I like is that this game is different from many other fighting games that I have played over the years. And that's what I find unique about it. And I also love the classic 2 dimensional concept of the game design for not only the look of the characters but also for the opening "credits" you could say for the game. And the stage designs aren't so bad either.

One of my favorite fighting games.
A great fighting game all round with in depth training for a new comer to the series.Different from most fighting games in the style, timing, and feel of game play.BlazBlue has the potential of hundreds to thoudsands of hours of game play to masterevery character and learn different styles of game play. This version includes a advanced story mode (3 different full length story bound encounters)Advanced training into game strategy (general game play).Advanced training on player specific moves, defense, offence, etc.Practice mode lets you tune a computer opponent (any of the playable characters) to your needs (which can include the opponent stance, actions, % difficulty and other fighting style attributes) or record custom sequences to practice against for that character which you can start, stop, reset, re-record, etc.Features decent local play, doesn't keep stats of local game play like other games, but does give you XP for playing.Online play does keep stats of rounds until you are disconnected from your opponent which can be aggravating.A pen and paper can fix those issues though (maybe ask your friend to keep score or get a 3rd party observer to be impartial scoring for longer periods of play?)This is also an excellent game to use with a fight stick.

Bang Shishigami is the greatest
When BlazBlue was first announced I hated it. Not because it was bad or it offended me in anyway, it was because it was announced in place of a new Guilty Gear. Now with Xrd Sign being out in arcades and coming to consoles, I figured this was a good time to check BlazBlue out.BlazBlue's characters are based on various anime tropes and stereotypes. Some are good, some are meh, but they all look and act how you would expect that particular character type to. So if your into the Anime, like me, then you'll feel at home. The stages are amazing. Some of the best I've seen but not distracting. It is also a fantastic fight game. I don't like to use buzzwords when talking about games so I'll just say that every time I lost it was because of a mistake I made. Very fun. I feel incredibly stupid for not playing sooner. This game has quickly become my third favorite Fight game.

Did I just pay 40 for this game?
I own all previous versions of this game, so I essentially paid 40 dollars to have one more playable characters. My save data didn't carry over, so I ended up having to go through every character's story mode again so I could get at the additional modes for the "new" characters. And since it's not a sequel, but rather an "extension" to Continuum Shift, there really wasn't anything to the story that I didn't already know. Hopefully this game will come with DLC that makes me feel like I hadn't wasted a whole bunch of my money.

Great game for fighting fans
BlazBlue: Continuum shift EXTEND is big update to the original Continuum shift ( Sorta like Super Street fighter 4 arcade edition). This game includes the original story from CS and adds on. Best part its only 40$!!!. Game has a very in depth tutorial mode and challenge mode like most Street fighter. If your new to the series and do not want to learn how to play but just have fun they added a mode called stylish mode ( Automatic combos). Overall the game is great has a lot of modes to keep you busy offline and online.

Real fighting game
Very intricate and steep learning curve. Mastering the combos and each characters' metagame is fun and rewarding. Not for the faint of heart. Also lovely unlocks and the store is a great addition to BlazBlue. No DLC colors is a major step up as well. Any fighting gamer should have this game!

FUN game, online is DEAD
Love the game, story is engaging yet confusing, starts to make more sense the more storylines you complete. The one complaint I have is that, due to its age, the online multiplayer is DEAD. As in, I've only run across 1 other person online thus far. So completing the online trophies will require a bit of collaboration with other users aside from quick searching...

Great 2D Fighting Game
BlazBlue CSE is a great and underrated game. For those that are starting off at fighting games, this one has a tutorial where it teaches you the basics and advance knowledge of the game. If you find yourself heavily indulged in this game, go to dustloop.com to learn more in depth combos and such. I highly recommend this game.
