I'm pickier than most people when it comes to knock-off Rainbow parts and accessories. Long ago, I spent my summers working in the Rainbow factory, and I know which replacement part/accessory defects could lessen the vacuum's performance.This filter doesn't have as many pleats as the OEM filter and doesn't last as long, but it costs much less. I use my Rainbow about once per week, and one of these filters usually lasts 3 months or so. With the OEM filter, I get 6-8 months of use. It is the correct size for my E-series vacuum, and it seated properly in the filter opening. I didn't see any issues with the weld on the filter housing (no leaks), so it seems like it filters the air relatively well. When I installed this filter, the air in my house seemed cleaner when I vacuumed, and my family noticed it right away.Whatever you do, don't try to wash these filters. The manufacturer may say they are washable (and this includes the OEM filter), but they never dry properly and spread a musty smell through your home. They are "washable" in that the filter won't fall apart when exposed to water.

I have a Rainbow E2 type 12 that's about 10+ years old. It wasn't working as well as I expected, so I decided to take it into my workshop and really look it over. I discovered the Hepa filter, and figured out how to remove it - it had no screws and wasn't immediately obvious, but with a screwdriver and some care, I got it off pretty easily. I tried rinsing it real well, but it was too far gone, and ended up looking worse.I found some on Amazon, and this one seemed to be the right one, except the picture looked slightly wrong. There is a removable seal that is oval, but the picture shows it as being round. However, I read one review that said it was oval, and another that said returns were easy, so I took a chance. Turns out it was an exact fit and looked like the old one. Now I'm hoping it will help the performance.

I bought this for my Rainbow E2 vacuum which is almost 20 years old now. I tend to take very good care of it. I take it apart every now and then and service it as much as I can on my own. That said, I like it not to smell weird and the only time that it does is when I let other people borrow it and they either vacuum something smelly or let water sit in the tank and the filter is pretty much finished at that point Luckily, this filter fits perfectly and is affordable and reliable. I've ordered two in the last year from this seller, no issues with anything at all.

I had no idea my rainbow vacuum had a filter on it and I wish I knew sooner. While vacuuming my house smells 10x better now that I put in a new filter. Best price, quality and fitment!

So our vacuum tipped over a few times and then had a musty smell every time we went to vacuum - it stunk. To the point where we almost threw it out. Instead, I googled "musty rainbow vacuum solution" and INSTANTLY the musty smell was resolved.I bought a couple of these because I want to change the filter every 6 months. Dusty nasty buildup is inside and I hate that.I don't recommend washing these as instructed, just toss and buy another - they are not THAT expensive. If you wash, it seems you will always get that musty smell next time, even if you dry it the way it is specified - by putting back into the rainbow vacuum and running on low for half an hour. Doesn't work to dry thoroughly.Great option though, to keep the rainbow running properly and to extend life of the vacuum!

I just put this in yesterday and appears that it will work as expected. Does not have the mesh front like the old one but the new one immediately made the house not smell with the dirty air blowing out of the machine. I am confused as to why this part would not be as good as the "factory dealer" part. The one I bought does NOT look cheap, it feels and looks just like the originial. What confused me was how this was $15.99 and the dealer wanted $69.99.

The filters worked great 👍🏻 since I'm the one who vacuums the whole home with six people and four dogs and a cat that use the furniture like chew toys and scratch post butt scratching and wiping the filters come into use more often than most. I vacuum twice a day and it gets two vacuums and one is a rainbow and the other is a shark and the get cleaned and empty every time, believe me it's not a fun thing to do every day. I'm disabled and the 95% of the cleaning is my job, though the animals belong to everyone but me, so keep up the great pricing

I have purchased these items before through here and will continue to do so on as long as the machine continues to operate.
