I enjoy a traditional tasting espresso so the Mambo Italiano should be right up my street, and they are. I have just finished off the bag today, 18g in 39g out in 26 seconds, then stretched out into an Americano. I enjoyed the flavour and the fact that they have caffeine in but not a full load meaning I can have more cups in a day. Would and will buy again.

Dark roast, oily beans and taste really good.

This coffee comes in resealable bag.Upon opening the pack the smell was lovely and inviting. The beans are much darker than my standard coffee I buy on daily basis (number 3).I quite like the idea of making it half-half decaf-standard as I can be very sensitive to coffee and if I have two in 1 day I can't sleep at night.And I especially like that no chemicals were used in process of decaffeination but only water.(I've watched Food Unwrapped few years back and they showed that chemicals which remove caffeine from coffee comes in a container marked "may cause cancer", I've stopped drinking decaff since then).In regards to taste: I've had better. Maybe as this is medium dark roast it is too strong for me personally. I'm sure that if I've gotten number 3 roast I would be very happy with it.I was hoping that decaf will soften it a bit, but this is not the case.Also I do not think it is competitive in regards to price. I think it's too expensive.Recommended for strong coffee drinkers that like roast 5+

This Espresso bean is ok for the price. On one hand, there is a deep rich aroma. In my opinion, they are a dark roast not a medium with an oily texture. They have notes of a slight charing, maybe the batch was a bit overroasted, but it blocks the rest of the notes coming through. The acidity is fairly average (low). But on the other hand from a none coffee snob view…. Its average and normal people would find it pleasant in their daily latte. Not quite worthy of an espresso.For the cheap price of £8, it’s ok, but it’s all based on the personal coffee views of the beholder… I guess its good that there is less caffeine in it, it just means I can drink twice as much :)

About the most positive thing I can say about these beans are that you cannot tell that they are half decaff. The taste is OK, not brilliant, but perfectly acceptable to my palatte. I thinkthe concept of half and half is a good one - and something that had not occured to me previously. That said I think that these are quite expensive for just being OK. They have inspired me to mix some of my own - with some cheaper decaff beans added to one of my usual full strengths. So thanks for that. But I don't think I would rush back to these atthe current price.
