This is a 20mm cube (4/5 of an inch) so it is small. At that size, it needs a caution: not for young children, choking hazard. But, I really like the little thing. Not sure if it is a really neat adult toy, a possible combination color filter/mirror, or a learning tool for color. First of all, it works as a combination prism in direct sunlight (not very good for dim artificial light). The color combinations are stunningly bright. I found myself sitting on the floor, turning the cube in the sunlight to see the colors patterns on the wall. Then I tried holding it up to look through the cube at the color filter/mirrors. It is fun! On the more practical side, this is not a camera filter or mirror. There are lots of those out there that work better. So I am not sure it is a practical tool as much as it is a fun adult toy or learning tool. But it is NOT a toy for children.

This is smaller than I expected based on pictures. But it sure is a pretty little thing and I love it.

It works exactly as advertised and is very cool....but 20 mm is less than 1 inch...keep that in mind. It was just smaller than I was anticipating, which is my own fault for not buying a bigger one. If I did it again I would want a 2 inch one at least so you can see more than 1/3 an inch of each color.

I have it sitting it my kitchen window, and there is some light refraction and coloring going on. But it's not a pink floyd cover level prism... maybe if you go to a dark room with 1000W flashlight.
