So Good!
This was a series I fell in love with as a kid and now I am happy to give as a gift to my 8 and 11 year old niece and nephew. They fell in love immediately as well and were already asking for this second volume when only half way through the first. These are thick and have a LOT of content in them!Note that this version does not have color images as the old Starblaze/Donner did. Sadly, color versions are no longer in print. But this kids love this in black and white just as fine.

This is what comic telling should be like!
Just as the first volume was in black in white this one is also. Fear not comic lovers...this collection of stories [ in comic form, of course ] easily add the missing colors as the pages go on! These stories are amazing! I love reading more and more each day, and cant wait for the next collection to arrive in my mailbox!

Elfquest Volume II: Superb as expected
Only one review for this book???!! The last volume had tons of reviews early on because of a printing error -- one page was a copy of an earlier panel leaving one missing page -- I'm glad to say that this volume has no such issue. The story this time around is superb, though possibly less so than the first volume which was perfection. Don't get me wrong, it's still great, especially the latter portion of the King's of the Broken Wheel saga which will definitely pull at your heartstrings. This volume also has a short 'making of Elfquest' section in the back which is much like the first volume except that it only covers about half as many pages (8 vs 18).Now the question is are the Pini's publishing any more huge volume collections of the early Elfquest stories? We'll see about it. Personally I would love to own copies of the Hidden Year's #1-9.5

Epic tale of a tiny people
These are true graphic novels. Think "Lord of the Rings" with Tolkien's hand colored illustrations on every page. If Tolkien had lived in the swinging 60's instead of the grim 30's.Unlike "Rings", however, the theme is not so much saving the world as saving our people. Cutter and his elves face attempted genocide (by humans), loss of their homeland, a near fatal trek through the desert, and grudging acceptance by the more fortunate elves who take them in. Sound familiar? I would make everyone who wants to limit acceptance of refugees read this series.Volume 2 continues Cutter's quest to find more surviving elves/allies. It only loses a star because it is Act 2, and not all storylines are resolved. There's also a lot more death and less romance than in Volume 1. Can't wait for Volume 3!

Wonderful Again
I bought the kindle version of Volume 1 and 2. I now wish to purchase both in book format. I was delighted to revisit my teenage comic and went so far as to go the website and get caught up on what had gone on in the past 20 years or so. Now I'm even subscribed at my local comic store to get the Final Quest issues as they come out, absolutely loving it. The World of Two Moons is a great place to visit time and time again. The Wild Hunt was by far my favorite of the fringe stories that came after the original quest, I highly recommend it to old EQ fans who missed out on the aftermath. The Hidden Years is also a must read.

The quest to read part 2.
Cover is slightly damaged at the edges, there is a scratch on the back, but the contents are flawless. The artwork is amazing black on white print, pages are a good size.

This was hard to get
My review is a year or two late, but now’s the time for catching up! This was a very hard to get book and when I finally got this one there was Damage on it. The story and art was amazing however. The 4 stars was for the quality the book came in.

Good Price for a Good Read.
Continue the adventure with Cutter and the Wolfriders. I've always like the 2 story arc of this compilation cause it offers many insightful revelations. Also fleshes out the characters really well. Reading this makes reminds me of the past when I first read Elfquest. I plan to collect all the compilations of this type but Kings of The Broken Wheel will always be one of my favorite arcs.

The Quest continues.
With this volume, we see that Richard and Wendy Pini have started to hit their stride in both writing and art.
