Drummer's Guide to Fills: Master the Art of Drum Fills, Book & Online Audio

Like half of the other drum books on the market his book has pages of good materal but a lot of material that's not the best...sounding...or substance. It's a cool book for fills. And has some great teaching tools. But not the most practical.

Wonderful book for help u develop your own drum fills and improvisation. It clearly explain how fills is constructed, how to make melodic fills. Highly recommend to you if you want to learn more about drum fills.

The authors assume that you are starting from scratch and that you may not be doing your daily rudiments. A great deal of time is spent in practice routine to execute the fills. So, if you are a beginner, then this books is for you.

I was expecting just drum fills, not the basics of drumming. If it just had fills, I would easily give it a five.

Great book

I'm a professional guitarist who's always dabbled in drums, and this year decided to get serious and really try to learn to play. I work in a music store and get to see lots of books, and talk to a lot of players. I saw this book on the rack and it looked like something I could really use, and use it I have, non stop for over four months now. Fills of every kind are covered sequentially and logically. Rock fills, triplet type, groove fills, jazz, flams, rudiments, orchestrating stickings, you name it. Fills are given for one beat, two, three and full measure. I spent weeks on the co-ordination studies alone, and was able to apply them as fills right off the bat.As I've been learning new beats from tunes and other books, I practice them and then try inserting the fills. It's been fun, and enormously helpful. I'd recommend this book to drummers at any level, although a lot of this is probably stuff advanced players have done. For beginners and intermediates like myself, it will help get you better, fast. I'll be working with it for a long time.(The other books I've settled on are Realistic Rock, Mel Bay's Complete Modern Drum Set, and The Art of Bop Drumming, all well reviewed).

This book is a very cool compilation of practical ideas and exercises to help ANYone on the drumset. I am a teacher/performer and have had a lot of fun with it - on my own and with students.

Was expecting just a drum fills. But it contains arsenal of exercise to create our own drum fills and solos. The fills goes from basic to advance level, and also contain practical fills which can be applied to real music. It's must have book for beginners as well as advance drummers.

This is an outstanding book. I am a guitarist, but bought this for our drummer, who loves this book and CD and is improving very rapidly as a result. It is well laid out and the tracks are excellent, all 99 of them!
