Hot Tools Professional Taifun Ionic AC Motor Dryer with Travel BagI have a LOT of hair. It's not crazy-long (maybe 3/so inches below my shoulders) but it's thick and there's just a lot of it. It used to be stick-straight before I had my daughter, 7 years ago. Now it's wavy and seems even thicker and more unruly. It's a challenge to dry, which is why I usually don't bother...It typically takes me upwards of 25 minutes to dry it straight with a round brush and my go-to hair dryer (a decent but still drug store model that I've had for somewhat longer than my daughter has been alive). That's time I don't often have to spend (7 year old, remember). It's easy enough in the summer - when it's warm, I just let it air dry and let it turn out as it will. Some days that's wavy, some almost curly, some mostly straight. It has a mind of its own, my hair, and mostly I say live and let live... But winter is coming, and I have a job outside of the home for the first time in 7 years, and odds are I'm going to have to dry this hair on a more regular basis.Since I have no more time than ever before, I figured it might just be time to upgrade my hair dryer and see if the technology has advanced to the point that it no longer takes me half an hour to make my hair look like it belongs on the head of a grown up. I'm pleased to report that it has.This hair dryer is, in a word, FABULOUS. It is heavy. Both in terms of actual weight (it's surprisingly weightier than my previous model) and in terms of durability. This baby should take me through a decade, at least according to how sturdy it feels. And it is FAST. Seriously - I dried my hair in less than half the time it used to take me. LESS THAN HALF?! It's like being given the gift of time (the best of all gifts, nearly impossible to ask for let alone actually obtain). From towel-drying after the shower to completely dry and ready to walk out the door was honestly about 12 minutes.There are two temperature settings (high and low) AND two speed settings (high and low) - I love that I can use a cooler heat setting and still have it dry quickly. My incredibly swift drying results were achieved using a combination of high and low temp with the high speed - so even at the lower temps, you still get the fast results. It was a fantastic thing to learn that I can actually dry my hair into an actual style in only slightly longer than the time it used to take me to towel dry it enough to leave the house and apply gel...

First, I’ll start by saying this is hands down the nicest blow dryer I have ever used. Is it worth the high price? I think that depends on who you are.-It has good weight to it without being excessively heavy. Feels like a solid, professional device-Comfortable to hold in my hand-I absolutely love the matte black and stainless steel look. It looks like a professional tool.-The concentrator and diffuser attachments are nice, but just pretty standard-Everything is well-packaged. There was no damage or defects on arrival-This thing is powerful! You can dry your hair fast. I have no complaints in regards to this-I love the buttons settings- there is a low/high speed setting as well as low/high heat and then the cool shot button is nice as well.-The printed words for the settings seem like they won’t wear off. I hate when this has happened in the past to previous dryers I have had-The cord is definitely long enough in my opinion, but it is surprisingly not a swivel cord. I haven’t had any issues with the cord so far though.-Also not a big deal, but for the price, it would have been nice for the cord to have the attached Velcro cord holder rather than just the little bendable plastic piece that is like a bread tie.-I was very happy to see that they included a little storage pouch. It is so soft-feels like velvet or something and has drawstrings-Obviously it is a hair dryer and makes noise, but I didn’t think it was excessive or noisier than other less powerful dryersI was so worried when I first tried because I had ordered a blow dryer somewhat recently that seemed perfect until I realized that the back was a vacuum that sucked up all my hair when I was diffusing. It was definitely frustrating and painful. If you put your hand over the back of this blow dryer, it has vacuum-like suction of course, but thankfully the company designed it well and included some type of filter in there to prevent it from sucking up hair. I literally tried to shove my hair in just to see- to no avail. I’m definitely happy.Anyway, I really don’t have any actual complaints about this blow dryer. Currently, the price is $95.15. I have never been one to spend that kind of money on any hair-related product, but I know many people do. Therefore, I can’t honestly compare this to another similarly priced product to tell you if this is worth the price. I’m giving 5 stars based on my experience with the product. It was my favorite blow dryer. It dried my hair faster than others have and overall it was great. Downside I purchased this dryer March 2021 and it just went out on me February 2024. For being on the higher priced side I wish it would have lasted longer.
