Work's as anticipated
Bought 2 850 watt, 120volt, tank heaters for 2 diff. tractors. 1st Tractor works well, as anticipated. 2nd tractor I can't adapt to it. so I'll keep as back up for 1st tractor. Highly recommend this brand. Just watch out for tanks NOT made in U.S.A. Element tends to die within 2-3 uses.

So far so good...
I took a chance with this engine heater despite the generally bad reviews others have left. So far (2 months later) I'm happy with the heater. Quality of the heater seems to be ok - I wouldn't call it great but it doesn't seem too cheap. At least it's made from cast aluminum so it won't rust. You can find lots of installation instructions and videos by surfing the interweb, and each car is different so I won't go into detail (I put mine in a 1998 Geo Metro 3 cylinder ;).The heater definitely heats my engine to a moderate temperature (to about 80-90 degrees in 10 degree outside air). I was kind of hoping it would make the interior of my car toasty warm and defrost my windshield too, but it does not.Overall I'm pleased with the performance and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I'm still cautious based on all the other bad reviews.(edit 2/12/14) The heater is still working great 4 months later with daily use! Even though it does not warm the interior of the car (it's not designed for that anyway), it does a good job of warming the engine even in -5°F temps. I run start the car and in 2 minutes I've got warm air - takes 10 minutes at idle if I don't use the Kat's heater. 4.5 Stars (still cautious on lifespan of the heater).

Geo Metro engine heater
I installed this on my 1992 Geo Metro 1.0 liter 5 speed. I put it between the engine and heater core. The water circulates through the engine block nicely. I mounted the heater on the driver's side engine compartment. It works well in the sub-zero Wisconsin winter. Kat's 13080 850 Watt Aluminum Circulating Tank Heater

total chinese junk. subpar, poor quality and they don't care.
JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK. these things barely last 4 months of being used mildly, we have a timer to turn on the power at 4:30am and my wife leaves at 5:30. that's ONE HOUR A DAY and they burn out within 6 months. buy a real heater from a non outsourced manufacturer like HOTSTART. and buy a unit like the one i have that is the TPS051GT8. it works awesome and unlike the throw away unit on this page you can buy a new thermostat when and IF it burns out. they ARE more expensive, buy try to warranty a junk KATS unit, you'll spend the same amount on a cheapy after buying 3 of them.( the kats units use WAY more power too) (GOOD LUCK CHUM !!) i have 2 kats units in my garage WITH reciepts. and they both blew at 4 and 7 months. CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP. buy a hotstart.

Aluminum Tank Heater
give it 3 stars as it was easy to install but has not been cold enough to see how well it's going to work.

Doesn't last
I purchased this heater for my tractor in October 2018 for $42.69. Today, 1-4-22, I found it has failed. It's only been used in winter months and then only when very cold. So, since my initial purchase, it's been actually used perhaps a total of 12 to 15 months. I was prepared to buy another one but now find the price is now $98.49, a whopping $55.80 MORE than it cost just a few years ago! That's an absurd price increase and I can't see any way it can be justified. They've lost a customer in me.

Used for a parts washer heater
Brings the temperature up pretty quick, shortens degreasing time in half.
