This lucid work reveals the age-old teachings of the great wisdom traditions of humanity. It is the best introduction for understanding Islam. These Words of Truth can be found in every religion. I am anxious to read other books by Lex Hixon, a world-known religion scholar.

Beautiful explanation & commentary regarding the Quran's illuminations... Highly recommend Hixon's offering to humanity... Thank you for the spiritual sustenance.

It can get a little boring with repeated collection of phrases thatt often don't make sense unless you have experienced what Lex has which you obviously haven't since everyone's journey is different. I did like the commentary by the editor. Overall, I would recommend this book most to the Muslims because if this book is a good representation of Islam then Musli s have certainty missed the point.

This is quite a unique perspective! It captures the heartfelt intimacy of a Sufi perspective very well.

Quran passages taken out of context, to emphasize meanings. I was expecting more, but it seems like excepts from the radio show.

This is amongst my favorite books on Islamic Spirituality. It is aimed at the heart. I discovered this book after reading another book in the same genre, "Through the prism of the Heart". See  A Perspective on the Signs of Al-Quran: Through the prism of the heart

While this an enriching and beautifully written book there are however some over-simplistic understandings of Islam not based linguistic reality.For example, the author states that Allah consists of a positive (AL) and a negative (LA). This is not the case: AL is the Arabic definite article and is followed by ILAH which is contracted to LAH meaning divinity. A better linguistic understanding of Arabic would have enriched this book much more

Je voulais mieux comprendre le Coran. J'ai donc acheté un Coran, et j'avoue être resté sur ma faim. Je n'arrivais pas à ressentir un élan du coeur, et trouvais la lecture assez aride, notamment du fait de passage assez violents qui n'était pas un appel, à mon sens, à nourrir son intériorité.Puis je suis tombé sur ce livre. Est-ce l'inspiration communiquée par l'auteur (qui a eu des experiences spirituelles en lien avec l'Islam, et un enseignement par des soufis), sa foi qui remplit ses mots, une énergie qui passe... je ne sais pas, mais à la lecture de ce livre, je sens mon coeur s'ouvrir et quelque chose être transmis. Je sens ce livre s'adresser directement au coeur. L'Islam et le Coran apparaît alors comme une Source qui abreuve l'âme, et assez universel (une qualité que porte cet auteur), et aussi assez éloigné des dogmatismes.Merci à Lex Hixon pour nous aider à mieux comprendre cette tradition d'un point de vue spirituel.
