Diagnosis Murder // Season 6 (6 Dvd)

Diagnosis Murder is a great show and it looks good on blu-ray. However I purchased 2 different copies and both of them had defective discs. The menus would not allow me to select and play the last episode on 2 of the 3 discs.

Love the series and have the collection. The only disappointment for the blue ray was that one of the episodes will not play. It just skips the entire episode. Other than that, the color is fine and nothing is scratched or skips. Hours of good watching. Would have been a 5 star if the episode wasn't skipped.

I ordered this as well as the other seasons of Diagnosis Murder, so that I can own the entire set. Every season is great in my opinion, and Dick Van Dyke is a great talent, no matter what character he is playing. As the well respected Dr. He does a wonderful job, as does his son playing the homicide detective. This is great fit nostalgia fans, or those new to the show, who appreciate good television from past years. Tons of cameos from other famous actors from the past, in every season. One of the strongest storylines of the show is from season 6-7. If you are a Dick Van Dyke fan, and don't mind the campiness of older shows, which some episodes have, but I like that, then get this series. Spin off show of Jake and the Fat Man. Another success at starring an older comedian from a former popular sitcom, in their own crime show. It worked for Andy Griffith, Carrol O'Connor, and it worked well for Dick Van Dyke also.

Another reviewer wrote this was the most imaginative season and I have to agree.I do fault these DVDs for not having closed-caption capabilities. You cannot even use the closed-caption feature on your own television by hooking up the DVD to the 3-color (non-HD) cables. With some DVDs, that is a good workaround but not on these. That's a shame for us older viewers. And honestly, there is always some dialogue that even the youngest viewer can't make out, no matter how many times you repeat a scene. All DVDs should have closed captions (and/or English subtitles).

I can only give this 3 stars because I had to return it because one of the disks would only play two of the four shows then stop completely. We had purchased this same season from Costco twice with the exact same problem a few months ago and returned them as well. Apparently a production problem with at least one disk. We never watched the rest of the disks unsure if it would create a problem for our player. Maybe this season will be remanufactured in the future and we'll try again since we always enjoyed the series.

Dick Van Dyke has had a remarkable career in show business. Best known as a comic actor from his legendary "Dick Van Dyke Show" in the early 1960's, he went on to long running success as a doctor/sleuth in "Diagnosis Murder". The episodes are fun to watch and entertaining, combining mystery, crime solving and some humor along the way. Highly recommended.

It would be five, but no closed-captioning. The audio quality is not the best - but what is after 20 years? I find it odd that the first season - released by CBS - did have it, but all these by VEI do not. Sad.

Enjoy this old series. Good story and acting.

If you are looking to purchase this DVD set watchout, it is advertised as UK compatible but you will still need a multi region DVD player but the DVD is region 4 not region 2.

Brought as a present for somebody who enjoys watching this series.

Great series, sadly not available on Region 2. Thank goodness region 1 DVD players are cheap to buy so us Brits can watch this in the comfort of our own homes.

Sadly this copy was faulty, l have purchased it part 1 psrt 2 season 6 ,found it sentimental more tongue &cheek not take it self serious , more funnier dialogue ,

I enjoy watching this too.
