Return: Redemption, Book 3

My teen grands love this series and took all mine home. Guess I will have to buy some more books.

Return is the 3rd in the Redemption Series, following Redemption and Remember. Return focuses on the Baxters' son Luke. He becomes "disenchanted" with God and turns 180 degrees from the values of his family. As always, the interactions between the Baxter family members not only make an engaging story, but also teach the reader the importance of trusing God. This is my favorite series of all time, and I do read constantly! It evokes strong emotions in the reader, because there is bound to be someone's behavior or some life situation that really hits home. It is a book you'll never forget! Buy the entire Redemtion Series at once so that you won't have to pause between books. Here they are in order: Redemption, Remember, Return, Rejoice, and Reunion. And even after that there is a spinoff series that promises to be just as rewarding: the Firstborn Series, also involving the Baxter family but with some new characters and situations--outstanding!

So many things hit me in this book. It has made me think about a lot of things that I’m faced with.

This book and this series was something that I so enjoyed. The story pulls you into the family and the trials that they go through, you can relate to them. Through this book and series, I was reminded of all the awesome things that God can do in our lives, and even when they don't turn out the way we want them, God is still loving us and in control. I read all 14 of the Baxter books in 30 days and was so sad when I finally finished the last book. However, I have moved on to the "Above the Line" series and it is nice that we still get peeks of the Baxter family. I had borrowed several of these books from the library when I was reading them, but I think that I will actually end up buying them for my Kindle so I can read them again. It's definitely a keeper and I would recommend it to anyone, especially those who are going through tough times and need to be reminded of the hope in Jesus Christ.

After reading the complete set of 5 books, I found there were a few inconsistencies in the story from one book to the next. Since I am a stickler for detail that kind of threw me off a little, but finally figured out where the author was going. The story line is great, but by the end of the 5th book the general direction and conclusion for each character was pretty predictable. All in all great stories to relax by, several unexpected twists, but not quite as riveting as I had hoped.

Every book in this series is better than the previous one. Karen Kingsbury writes with heart and really gets my emotions going. I laughed and cried for the characters. It was very touching to see Luke come back to God. It was revealed that a character has AIDS and while it wasn't touched on too much on how it would affect the characters lifestyle it was nice to see real world problems in the story. I can't wait to read the next book!

I like reading and KarenKingsbury is one of my favorite authors. I wanted to read this series of her books and I bought Return probably from one of Amazon's used book sellers. It came in good condition and helped to complete my set of the series. I am sure I will purchase more because so far I have not been disappointed.

Se você ler esse livro na sequência indicada você nunca se cansa e sempre precisa saber o que está acontecendo. Por vezes tive que deixar o livro pra conseguir respirar de tantas reviravoltas que ele nos apresenta. Mas não digo isso por ser uma leitura indigesta, mas sim por já me sentir parte dos personagens. O coração fica a mil a cada capítulo e, ainda assim, Karen Kingsbury consegue me deixar com o coração aquecido sempre! Que leitura incrível!

Another good read from Karen.Things don't always work out how we are thinking they will do. For the Baxter's so many emotions are seen in Karen's novels.Looking forward to the next in the series.
