easy viewable, and accurate time piece
I ordered one of these clocks in late 2014 and have not had a single problem. The jumbo clock represents a quality made, easy viewable, and accurate time piece, not to mention that it is attractive, contemporary, and the batteries last a long time, a year plus. Fast forward to this year 2016 I ordered two more for different rooms. I love the fact that the clock comes contained with batteries and it is very easy to hang up or just place on a table, shelf, mantle, etc. I am not finished yet, I am deciding on purchasing the extra jumbo clock. I have bought other similar name brand clocks, and they did not last. With the Jumbo Marathon, I am highly impressed and would definitely recommend it to someone interested in a reliable, atomic, contemporary digital clock.(my standard note: When I rate a product I impart as much clarity and actual personal experience of the product as possible to hopefully assist others. I do not use or allude to for the money. I doubt the manufacturer will either if they expect to sell a product. If I pay $15 for a like product vs $500 for an original; I expect the same performance regardless of savings. Making and selling a product at a lower costs does not equate to cheap. Less cost should only mean that a competitor has learned to do the same or better at a lower cost.)

Wall clock with big numbers, easy to read. (Update: still 5 star after 4 years)
I've had this clock for almost a year. So far so good. I like the BIG numbers and I like generally how it works. Especially the "Wave OK" icon which indicates that it has up-dated the time within the last 24 hours. I have a smal tablel clock from Sharper Image (company long out of business) which works the same with exactly the same displays! Not much else to say, it works as expected.Update: It's been almost two years now, and this thing is still working fine. Just replaced the original batteries, reset the date and approximate time, pushed the "wave" button and within a few minutes the time snapped right in to within one second of my Casio Waveceptor wrist watch. I have only praise for the Marathon "Jumbo Atomic Wall Clock".Update: four years latter (it's now 2018), this clock is still going strong. Battery life is phenomenal, only changed batteries once in this period.

Very cool clock. I am really enjoying it so far
Very cool clock. I am really enjoying it so far. The time and temperature are very accurate and how detailed it is. The temperature is in line with my home thermostat as well. Very accurate! The clock itself is a little bulky but the top molds into the wall. I do like how the top piece(frame) of the clock does help it blend in with the wall if you mount it on the wall. It makes for a very modern look.I never even looked at what type of batteries it required. I could not believe it takes (3) C batteries. Although, they should last a long time. I was just a little surprised. Finish on the clock is ok but not great. I guess since it will be mounted on my wall, moving it will not effect the finish. It really looks great in my kitchen. The bottom of the display takes some time getting used to reading it but it will over time. A little weird at first for me anyway.Overall I really like the clock and the black border around it is not too bulky and is slimmer in the horizontal sections. It makes it much easier to read in my opinion. I would purchase again for sure.UPDATE: 11/21/14The clock worked great for a while and now is starting to lose it's time and I have to constantly change it back to the correct time. This happened ever since daylight savings time change. I'm hoping this problem goes away.

GIANT ATOMIC WALL CLOCK
UPDATE 8 YEARS LATER, December 2019My original 2011 clock has been performing flawlessly 24/7 since I wrote this review. I just bought a second clock (same model) when I saw the price bottom out again. Was a slight operational change that I noticed out of the box that I thought was a defect -- when I pressed the Wave button, it appeared to have no effect -- my original clock instantly begins pumping the wave indicator. I called Marathon and asked customer service what was up, tech got right on it with great information - the Wave button still works -- it just may take a minute or two for the wave indicator to start pumping. This is the best atomic clock out there in my opinion, it has rarely failed to grab the time (the first try) in San Diego regardless of time of day.ORIGINAL 2011 REVIEW:First, I've bought about 12 smaller Atomic clocks over the years and usually end up giving them to friends. My biggest question about this clock was does it have a Wave button to force it to look for a signal, and the picture everyone uses to advertise this clock makes it appear to have a backlight. It does have a Wave button (see my pictures of the backside controls), and it is not backlighted (see my picture of the giant and normal clocks with a $10 bill for scale).I first bought a smaller clock from Amazon model "La Crosse Technology WS-811561-W atomic digital wall clock with solar-powered sensor" but it was missing Wave buttons for the time and temperature, and the solar-powered thermometer didn't take batteries and was poorly documented in the manual -- it just felt cheap compared to other clocks I've owned. The deal breaker was when I called La Crosse Technology for help minutes after taking it out of the box -- I was left on hold for 30 minutes and then disconnected. I then used Amazon to Return the item and was given a return tag, postage paid.Next I called Amazon's seller "American Science & Surplus" and got right through to a customer service specialist who answered my questions in less than a minute -- and then I ordered the giant clock from Amazon because I felt good spending the extra dollars for the big model, and after a week now, I highly recommend it -- it is a first rate product sold by a professional business who answers its phones.I took the time to post this (my first review) because I really use other reviewers' feedback and no one posted any reviews on this product.

Great product
Device functions properly. Toss in the included batteries and set it by a window for the first night to sync with the world atomic clock (make sure you've got a relatively clear view in the direction of Colorado). Next day, place it and forget about it!I've got this clock in the depths of an office building surrounded by metal beams etc. Every night it still syncs up with the world clock. The display is nice and crisp, and I can see the digits clearly from about 30' away through tinted interior glass. Definitely does a good job for what it's advertised to do!

Well made and always reliable!
We now have 5 Marathon atomic clocks which we are very happy with! All features work consistently well on each clock. Very precise time, no setting for daylight saving time necessary, displays are clear and accurate!

Excellent design and reliability
Liked almost everything about this. Put one in my wife's bathroom at her request and she loves it being easy to read, offering a 24 hour clock and temperature in Celsius. We added one to our living room. Matches some of our decor nicely. Not giving this 5 stars since we can't benefit from the radio connection to the atomic clock here in Canada. So the "wave" function doesn't work. Also, the plastic covering is highly reflective which infrequently introduces glare making the digits chard to read unless you're at the right angle with the right lighting. Most of the time this is fine. One has been operating on its original factory batteries for a year without need for replacement.

Good, but loses Atomic Time Signal too often.
The size is very good, and the digits are easy to read. It is very good looking, and I liked that there was no external temperature display. However, the Radio Control synch drops out too often, and then your time is off - with no indication of the problem. Some competitors do not have the clock synch drop out, and that is much better, to us at least.I have given my Marathon Jumbo wall clocks away, and am awaiting model from a competitor. This should not irritate users who have only ever owned Marathon clocks. Probably. But it was a deal-breaker for me.A. C.

Great Clock! I needed something very visible to put on the wall, to be able to train and time myself and this model fits the bill perfectly! In my case, it received the radio signal to adjust itself perfectly, even it I put it on a wall that is 10 feet away from a window, facing west (but on the second floor). I've tested the temperature reading with 2 other thermometers and it displays numbers in the same range! Nothing bad about this model to say!
