Touch Lamp Repair Kit

Works great so far. I have an old touch lamp that hasn't worked in ages. Always meant to get it fixed, but it was never a priority so it just kept getting put off until I saw the lamp as more of just a decorative piece. But then I saw this replacement piece for sale. The fact that it comes with the 3 bulbs was great too, because I needed a couple of replacements. Install was a breeze. It was practically identical to the old unit, so I just switched it out one wire at a time to make sure I couldn't mess anything up. And it even came with wire nuts to make connecting the new wires fast and simple. Total time from opening the package to having the lamp fixed and back in place was probably not even 10 minutes.Only negative thing I can say about this thing, is that it didn't have much in the way of instructions. It does have a pretty simple to follow wiring diagram that came with it. But if you've never done any DIY electrical projects or repairs, I could see how it could get confusing. But if you go slow and take note of how the wires connect to the old unit, even someone with absolutely no experience should be able successfully install this on their own.

The packaging had a wiring diagram. The colors of the wires on the diagram were different than the wires on the switch (diagram listed Yellow-White-Red-Black, actual switch was ordered Yellow-Red-White-Black)Since wires are just wires, I figured that they'd still be soldered in the correct order according to the diagram regardless of color, so I figured I'd just ignore the colors and go from top to bottom, which didn't work and the fuse failed.After I killed the switch, I decided to pry it open. I found that the wires were soldered Yellow-Red-Black-White - the black and white wires were crossed over. To me, this appears to be a mess of a product. The photo for the product shows the wires ordered in the third order listed, so I can only assume that I got a bad unit. But even then, the order is still different than the diagram.Obviously, most people seem to install it without a problem, and this issue might just be me, so I can't give it a 1 star.If the diagram on the package was accurate to the actual product in the package, maybe it wouldn't have happened, or maybe if I had ignored the discrepancy of the ordering of the colors and focused on the just the colors, it would have been fine.In hindsight, I realize that the diagram may have been drawn in the way that it was to try to make it easier to understand, so lines weren't crossing over each other, but it just made it more confusing for me.Regardless, I got a broken lamp until I get a new switch, but given the price, it would have been better to just buy a new lamp.

When I first opened the package I was concerned that I had purchased the wrong product. I have a touch lamp that had stopped working. It was listed in Amazon as a Touch Lamp Repair Kit, but the package says 3-way touch switch. In any case I want to reassure you that it was easy to install and now my touch lamp works perfectly. Thank you.

This is the second kit I've ordered. They work great. I've found it is easier to write down on a piece of paper what wires are hooked together before you start replacement. Then it is a piece of cake. Don,t cut the old wires short because you will still need them, except yellow. It is easier if you have wire stripping/cutting tool.

Great price & an easy fix for my lamp that stopped working. I didn't need the bulbs at this time, but now I have replacement ready to go. Replacing the sensor only took about 10 minutes and was super easy. I would definitely recommend this product.

Exactly the same controller and bulbs that came with the lamp that was repaired. Most touch lamp's us this very controller so you really cant miss with this product if you like the lamp or fixture you will be repairing. Follow the directions and your lamp is good as new. (Never use bulbs that exceed the wattage rating on the lamp and/or the controller as this will burn the unit out over time or in some cases immediately.)

I ordered this in the hopes I could fix a touch lamp that went out when I put a normal small base bulb into the socket. Maybe if I was an electrician this would work, but there was no way I was going to cut open the electric cord to attach this gizmo. No directions and not self-explanatory to me. It has gone into my electric junk box, from there to the trash.

This didn't fit our lamp even though I did a search using the type of touch lamp we have. It actually shorted out after being installed. The company was very good with customer service, however and refunded us immediately.
