I bought this book because I am considering breeding cats a later point and I wanted to find out a little bit of what it involves. This book was really great at going through the basics and details of showing, breeding and running a cattery. And, not only that, but it's actually enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this book.

The information contained in this book has saved my butt on several occasions. This is a well written, thoughtful book for any beginning breeder, or anyone considering breeding pedigreed cats.

This book is ok, yet very dry and reads like a text book. There are better books out there so keep searching folks.

There is a reason that people are willing to pay $150+ for the collectible book that is out of print. Luckily my fiance and I won it at a local cat show that had a raffle. We had no idea it was worth so much at the time, but devoured it and thought it was excellent.This book is nearly a complete resource for all breeders, if I could choose only one cat book to keep this would be the one.It is well written, thought-out, and VERY informative. Any question you have about breeding is answered here. It is simply the best cat breeding book I have ever read.

This book gives a complete start-to-finish guide to breeding fine cats. Breeding Pedigreed Cats has it all, from selecting your foundation stock, to birth, to an overview of genetics, to regular care and maintenance of a group of breeding animals. The subject matter is presented in an approachable, readable format which is engaging and doesn't 'frighten' a novice breeder into thinking: "Ohh, no! What have I done!!" but rather moves through the process of breeding animals in a step-by-step manner that discusses potential problems and solutions.I would suggest that this book could be of value to both amateurs and masters alike. Great book! I read it cover to cover and it now stays on my kitchen table while I (a novice cat breeder) figure out what I am doing while I enjoy every step along the way.
