Soup: A Way of Life

It was fine, just not to my taste. I love the New England Soup Factory cookbook and wanted something else like it.

This is my favorite go to soup cookbook. Have been using it for years.

Like another reviewer, I finally bought a used copy after having borrowed it from the library many sets of moons ago. Absolutely wonderful, very broad range, just about everything seems tempting. I approach soup recipes along the same lines as I test a new pizzeria: that is, by starting with the basics (soup stock, margherita pizza). I appreciate Kafka's direct approach. Fish stock is simmering on the stove as I write, thanks to her encouraging recipe.

Last winter was cold in Pennsylvania. Someone told me about this soup recipe book. Amazon didn't have a new one in stock but said they had a used available for. 99. I took the used one. It arrived in less than 3 days. I have made 17 different receipts and have enjoyed the book so much. All for 99 cents. The used book like it had hardly been used.

I love to read cook books and I found this one very annoying. The sentences didn't flow and it seems as if the book was poorly edited.Honestly, I have not made any of the recipes because I can't get past the writing. If you're sensitive to writing styles as I am, you might want to check this out of the library before buying.

This book of recipes has soups from all over the world. I've tried some of them and they are wonderful.

I have a lot of soup cookbooks and I would rate this one right up among the top. It has many soup recipes that would have general appeal -- not too 'foodie' - lots of basic soup-making help, and a lot of recipes to push a cook 'outside of the box.' Great photos to help the process and entice the appetite. Recommend.
