Great RAM
I bought this upgrade for my 2009 iMac 27" i7. I already had 4 x 2GB sticks in my iMac, but needed more speed for Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. I installed 2 x 16GB along side 2 x 2GB sock memory (YES YOU CAN DO THAT!) to give me a total of 20GB. I had no compatibility issues and it produced a very noticeable speed boost. If you feel your Mac is in need of more memory, I would recommend the following to know if your RAM is the issue: Open Utilities folder -> Open "Activity Monitor" -> Click the tab at the bottom labeled "System Memory" -> Just below that, you should see a few sets of data...The important ones are:"Free" : If your "Free" memory is low (or 0!) you probably need more memory."Page Outs" : If the "Page Outs" is high, this means that your computer is using hard disk rather than RAM for memory functions and produces a severe loss in speed."Swap Used" : This gives a rough estimate of how much hard disk is used for RAM. This will give you a rough idea of how much RAM you should add. i.e. if this is 4 GB, then you should add at least 4 GB.You should check these numbers while doing the types of activities you normally use your computer for. Not just at idle with nothing running! As far as this item goes, Crucial is a known Apple-friendly RAM and is unlikely to give you any issues. It is also a high quality manufacturer and is much more reliable than some cheaper brands. Remember, RAM is dirt cheap these days so don't save a few $$ to buy inferior quality RAM! You should just not buy any if you are going to buy a terrible brand.iMac install is really easy! You can find many manuals on the internet (I prefer iFixit). Don't be intimidated buy installing it. You can save a lot of money by doing it yourself. If you feel uncomfortable, then by all means have someone qualified to do it for you.

Works in Dell E6420 with older i5-2520 2.50ghz CPU - Windows sees 16gb
Bought this RAM for my Dell E6420 laptop (i5-2520 2.50ghz CPU, Intel graphics only from 2011 -- so not one of the newest E6420's), and it works fine. I assume I have one of the earlier motherboards, and I haven't seen anyone on the net conclusively say they have an early E6420 with an i5 processor and 16GB works fine, so I figured I'd put the data point out there. I bought this RAM based on advice I saw on the net that the laptop will take 16gb although Dell says only 8gb is supported, and a recommendation from someone else who added them to his E6420 to go for this particular set of Crucial sticks. Given several options, I went for the Crucial simply because I've never gotten bad RAM from them. My Windows experience RAM score went down from 7.6 to 7.5, but I now have 16 glorious gig of RAM installed and a spare 4GB stick sitting on my desk. It only took 20 minutes, and removing the battery, 9 screws, the hard disk and the DVD drive.Word to the wise: Sometimes, when you slide the hard disk back in as you are reassembling your laptop, it doesn't seat exactly correctly, and this is completely not obvious when you look at it, so when you reboot, the laptop won't see the disk. Don't panic! Just try to reinsert it from a different angle (which for me was inserting it when my machine was keyboard up rather than bottom of laptop up), and you should be good to go. Make sure you have it in a bootable position before screwing the hard drive in again, to avoid wasted time.Another worthwhile upgrade, E6420 owners, if you haven't done it yet, is SSD. You'll be stunned at how your system keeps up with any of the "new kids on the block" for basic productivity/spreadsheet type tasks after you swap in an SSD. I use the Samsung 840 EVO also from Amazon. Between 16gb of memory for VM happiness, and an SSD, you can have not just a fairly indestructible laptop, but a zippy one, too.Five stars because Crucial hasn't done me wrong yet in years of using their RAM, and I'm happy to have sticks that other E6420 users have reported work in their machines.

Successful Upgrade
When it came to upgrading my early 2011 13" MacBook Pro (2.3Ghz Intel Core i5), I was trying to decide whether to upgrade to 8GB or 16GB of RAM. Apple officially says my model MacBook Pro supports up to 8GB. However, it is confirmed by many, including Corsair and Crucial, that it will accept 16GB. After much research, I chose to purchase Crucial memory over other brands because of the hundreds of positive reviews here.I upgraded my MacBook Pro from 4GB to 16GB with the Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) without any problems. Installation was easy. Make sure you use a #00 Phillips screwdriver to open the rear panel of the laptop and keep track of the screws in your work area so you don't lose them. After removing the factory installed modules, the Crucial modules snapped in easily and securely. After replacing the rear panel and turning on the computer, it instantly recognized 16GB of RAM. Just to make sure everything was running fine, I took my MacBook Pro to Apple's Genius Bar and had them run a diagnostics check on it. They connected my MacBook Pro to their network via ethernet and tested it. No problems. Everything is working properly and faster with multiple programs open, including Final Cut Pro X, which opens and runs much faster with quicker render times on OS X 10.9.3 Mavericks. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Great Value, Easy Installation!
After I upgraded to Maverick, my mid 2011 Mac Mini running 2G RAM had serious performance issues. Every app seemed to stall with the spinning wheel of death. I spoke with the Genius Bar and they stated that I needed more RAM for Maverick. However, the Genius Rep advised me not to purchase the memory from Apple, since the price was 4 times more than other vendors. I was diligent with my research and purchased the Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1333 MT/s (PC3-10600) CL9 SODIMM 204-Pin. They installation was extremely easy and now I have no performance issues with my Mac Mini. Even though Apple only recommends 8G max RAM for my model, the Mini recognized the 16G and there are no issues so far with my memory. I am going to upgrade the memory on my MacBook Pro next!

2nde jeunesse
