Best Bed I Have Ever Had (Using Since 2016)!
The Zinus 4” Trifold Mattress is by FAR the (((best))) bed I have ever used in my life. I have been sleeping on this beautiful resting place since 2016, which is now eight years.I used to have a $2,000, fancy, queen-sized bed, that I falsely believed I needed. I gave that up for this simple Zinus, which at the time cost me less than $100. I only WISH Zinus would bring back this fantastic mattress, so I could continue recommending it to friends and family. To finally sleep in peace and comfort, with no hot spots, pain, or circulation issues is downright life-changing. The Zinus 4” Trifold made that possible. I tried several options prior to landing on this one, and none of them were comfortable. When the thin cover gave out after three or four years, I replaced it with the Millard Trifold Replacement Cover in the 4” size, available on Amazon. It is breathable and fits perfectly.I also bought a trifold mattress carrying case with handles (from Amazon as well), for when I need to hit the road, or move the mattress in and out of storage. My biggest tip for making this mattress last, is that if you do not plan to flip it up against the wall to dry after each night, you need to purchase the twin-size 4” wood platform that Zinus makes (easy to look up on Amazon). This will keep the mattress up off the floor so that it thoroughly dries everyday. This is vital for preventing mold or mildew on the underside of the mattress. We lose a LOT of fluid every night, which needs a place to escape. This is easy to manage, and any layered surface we sleep on must air out for this reason.I VERY HIGHLY recommend this spectacular bed. Thank you, Zinus. Please start manufacturing it again, because there is simply nothing better.

Comfortable for everyday sleep, not without a few small flaws
When I received my dorm room assignment for my senior year of college, I was overjoyed. After a year of enjoying little to no privacy in a room shared with another student, I had managed to get into one of the historical single apartments on campus - with my own little kitchen and bathroom! Huzzah! Emphasis on 'little,' however. In fact, after I'd looked at the room, I realized that it seemed to have been built during a time before people believed in floor space. I had only a little less than 10x12 feet in which to fit a bookcase, dresser, bed, desk, and an armchair. Clearly something in my plans would need to change. The long and short of the story is that I ended up sleeping in the closet, and this mattress made that possible.I've been sleeping on this pad every night for the past four or so months, and it's probably the best I could have hoped for. This mattress is comfortable! My floor is solid hardwood with no cushioning, and the foam in the mattress is more than enough to keep me comfortable and cushioned all night long. (Note though that I am rather small, and a larger, heavier person may report feeling the ground through the mattress to some extent.) In the morning it is easy to fold up right into the closet and forget about until it's time to pull it out at night. It can be fitted (slightly loosely) by a standard twin-sized sheet. It smells funky when first unpacked, but this disperses fairly quickly. The material of the covering is also quite impressive. After a moderate quantity of blood ended up all over the mattress (I'll leave it to you to guess how that came about), I pulled the covering off of the foam pads and tried to wash it out in my bathtub using dishsoap while it was still fresh. It actually worked extremely well, and the covering resisted the stain. It washed out completely and very little had soaked through to the foam underneath. If I'd wanted to, I almost guess that I would have been able to keep the cover on the mattress and wash it out with pure water, and wait for the pad to dry out on its own.I took away a star for two reasons:- I actually really do wish that I'd kept the cover on the mattress to wash it, because as I found out afterward, the thing is nigh on impossible to fit back on around the foam pads. I spent a very decent amount of time struggling to do so, and in the process ended up tearing the fabric around the zippers quite badly. While the material of the cover itself seems pretty hardy, the stitching around the zippers is very weak. The foot-long tear in the bottom of my mattress hasn't impacted my quality of sleep at all, but it sure makes me feel bad to look at. And I have never been able to get the foam pads back into the casing quite right. So if you're the kind of person who's extremely concerned with having a removable cover for cleanliness, this is probably not the right one for you.- The bottom layer of the pads is super-dense and composed of compressed foam scraps to keep one's bony bits cushioned from the floor. In several spots on the mattress, if you stand there, you will find yourself stepping rather uncomfortably upon some particularly hard foam bits, like there was a wood chip in it. I am lucky enough that none of them happen to be in spots corresponding to pressure points on my body as I sleep, but it's entirely possible that someone else's will be. Be aware of this and check on it before getting too comfortable with the mattress!Overall, though, this mattress is really quite comfy, practical, and fairly cheap. For a dorm room or other temporary setting where it's necessary to have your bed take up as little space as possible, I can't imagine one doing much better than this.

2 of these work great to create a queen futon mattress!
I purchased two of these to see if they would work for a futon mattress on a metal and wood slat Ikea frame. I priced queen and twin memory foam futon mattresses and found this to be the better option. I keep the two parts folded for the seat and the third section for the backing. When I fold out the bed it gives enough cushion to not feel the slats and have that memory foam bed experience rather than cotton futon mattress experience( I have had those in the past and found not very comfortable for long term sleeping). I purchased 3 clearance back cushions to add extra seated support and it works perfectly. Even though I probably paid the same as an actual queen memory foam futon mattress when the project was complete, I like the fact that I can take each bed off and create two twin beds if separation is needed on the floor space, or I can take one with me for camping, etc. because of trifold design. Also if a futon stays up in couch position too long you can get the crease in the middle that can be uncomfortable to sleep on. Since this is a spare room, it stays mostly in the couch position so I felt this would be the better long term care option. I just put a queen sheet over the two of them folded out and that keeps them together pretty well.As for the smell that these usually have, I only had to air them out for about 2 hours. They have a light aroma still but it doesn't invade the room as some of these do. The cotton zippered cover is pretty and soft. They aren't too heavy and folded are easy to move around and store.

Great For The Price
I'm a bit of an unusual case, I mostly bought this mattress to sleep in the back of my Tesla Model 3. It also is good for when company comes over. For fitment in the Tesla it's nearly perfect. I'm a big guy at 6'4 (or about 195cm), so it's cozy but if you sleep diagonal or fold your legs like I'm used to doing, it's a fine size. Comfort wise, I found it more than suitable. The smell was a bit cancerous at first, but a day or two of airing it out has reduced that a lot. The only real downside is how heavy and cumbersome it is, with no handles. A bit annoying to lug around. Also I feel like the folds are weak areas that will tear quick under the weight of the mats. Time will tell, I'll update my review as needed. I'm pretty satisfied with the product!

Great value mattress
This is a great mattress for temporary sleeping, I have 2 bedrooms but sometimes friends crash in the living room, and I take out this mattress for that. It's very comfortable. It can fold up to put away.

Ripped apart at the seam after 3 months
Decently comfortable but it ripped apart at the seam between two cushions after 3 months of use.

Not for a metal frame!!!
Havent slept on this yet just tested out with laying on it but i feel like the thickness is good, even for me im 120lbs. I think this bed could be great for a floor mat (although I think one end will always push away with weight how it spaces between the cracks) .. a flat boarded frame i think will give this the best result where it fits around all the corners...but TERRIBLE for this kind of frame and I wish I had thought about it beforehand or seen it recommended. As seen in my pictures, the mattress falls down on the metal frame making the mattress uneven on the top and uncomfortable in that spot. Just one of the folds cause the material in order to fold up to tower for storage, has the folds opposite to eachother so one of them is fine, but the other not and opening that fold when there's weight and making the metal go up inside. Im sure you could put this down near your legs but uts going 4o wear the fabric, put unnessary strain on it likely cause it to rip or you could even wear the foam weird. Also its been a little more than 48 hours and the decompression on the one end hasn't brought one end down flat yet.I called the company but they just told me to use Amazon's warranty, and ship it back with Canada post lol.. not sure how that is gonna fit back into the box. They did however give me a number if in 7 days the decompression hasnt improved to call to fix up the warranty with. Ill keep this post updated when I know more.SUPER disappointed.

Okay Experience
The bed serves its purpose if only you have to keep it stationary at a specific place in your home.I got the foldable bed as an option to move around the house when I have guests over or carry with me when I travel. The cloth that holds the foldable parts together is already coming apart. :( So now its restricted to one room. Also, its very heavy to carry around. So, go for it only if you know its meant to be in one place. As such the bed is comfortable to sleep on! But, definitely not portable.
