50 Paintings You Should Know

I am no expert, but i am becoming pretty fluent:) in art so is my 2 year old daughter. GREAT book. Good quality pictures. I dont read it much yet, but we go thru names and some general info about each painting (artist) and surprisingly, out of many books on the shelf, she tends to choose this one for our evening read. I am definitely going to by some books of this series for us to explore.

This is a nicely put together book. The only reason for the lower rating is because I am using this for an introduction for my son into art. I was quite surprised to see some of the selections of paintings that this author felt we should know about. It is defiinately a PG 13 (maybe 15 or 16) book. I had a lot of explaining to do about Dali's artwork shown.

I love this book! I don't know a lot about art but wanted to learn about some of the more known works and artists. This book is packed full of facts and very easy to read. a great coffee table book that you can pick up and read a page every now and then. Highly recommend :)

Good book that is easy to read. The illustrations are very good.

I'm an art teacher and I love this series of books for making warm ups for my art kids. It's generally a good short description of the artwork or artist with some interesting facts and good pictures. This isn't the book for someone looking for something really in depth stuff but if you just want a brief refresher they are great.

Really good summary of some major artworks. Got it to refresh my art history knowledge. And to give my daughter some added knowledge when she starts art school in the fall.

Love this book - very easy to just pick up & flick through.Even my 4 & 5 year olds like looking at it.Dropped a star as In my opinion a few artists which should of been included weren't - but I guess that's just personal opinion!Many thanks!!

Its a great coffee table book to pick up and look at when you get a minute and the info about the paintings is great

I enjoyed browsing these pictures. As I'm studying art I find it very useful.
