Three Sisters Garden

This book tells little of the tradition of this garden, and uses such an informal, limited vocabulary and writing style. Writing a children's book takes more than just saying "cool" a whole lot and talking about the bad aditude of teenagers. It is a waste of money.

I really like the book, it's great for beginning gardeners, and brings the ancient tradition to modern times! Not having an age range, I was hoping this would be a picture book for preschool and kindergarten, or a Level 1 reader. I can condense it for my preschoolers, and have them describe the pictures for me. I was also hoping that the middle sister who like beans would be a tree climber! I am still waiting for a picture book or Level 1 reader featuring Native Americans.

"Three Sisters Garden" by Sandy Baker isn't quite the story I was looking for but I thoroughly enjoyed this modern version of a classic tale. I read it to my Special Ed kids that range from 10-15 years old and they enjoyed hearing how the girls were able to work together. The author puts a recipe and gives a general description of the classic tale in the back of her book. It is the perfect book for parents to read to younger children, or for school aged children 10 and younger.

Book was in perfect shape.

Story is weak and characters are spoiled. I would feel embarrassed to read to my students. So disappointed.

Absolutely appealing article in our local newspaper written by this author. A white lady saying systemic racism doesn't exist... then finding out she writes children's books?! She will get NO support from me!

The author is self entitled and promoting values I think are harmful to children.
