Works flawlessly. Better than the cheaper common alternatives.
Works flawlessly. Uses a Sipex SP3232E RS-232-TTL chip. Works with VCC of <=6V. I'm using it with VCC of 3.3V, and it's generating RS-232 levels of +/- ~3V, which is recognized by my other RS-232 peripherals. Costs a bit more than the generic "MAX232" (or clone/counterfeit) widely available modules, but less of a gamble, and unlike those, also brings out CTS & RTS making full use of the chip.A winner.

100% good
I've purchased dozens and dozens of these. I like their small size and easy hookup for my project. Every single one of them has worked flawlessly.

NulSom Inc. Works well with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4
NulSom Inc. Ultra Compact RS232 to TTL Converter with Male DB9 (3.3V to 5V). So far this is the only TTL level converter that has kept working reliably with the Raspberry Pi Computer Module 4 systems that I have (three of them). This also seems to have a different chip than most of the others and includes RTS/CTS signals. I'm not using RTS or CTS, but I have no reason to think that they won't work. The CM4 uses 3.3V logic, so 5V level converters won't work. The other boards that I tried either got incredibly hot, or intermittently stopped working until I either cycled power or sent data through one of the other pins. These boards are well made and small. They might even fit inside a connector shell. I took off one star because these boards have no pins soldered into the holes. If you want pins, you will have to solder them on yourself. After trying a few other boards with nothing but problems I finally got these and soldered on the pins.

GPS Serial to Nikon Camera Solution - RS232 to TTL
We mount cameras onto manned aircraft.Every picture needs to the GPS tagged. This unit allows us to connect two cameras (e.g. two Nikon DSLRS, via 10-pin connector) to a single GPS antenna. The 5V DC from the camera(s) powers the chip.Works great.Nikon Camera shown, others supported similarly.

Works Great
This does what it supposed to do perfectly, but as others have mentioned, you'll need a null modem cable to connect it to your computer. I'm using it with Windows 10 and a Tripplite USB to serial adapter to monitor a GPS receiver I use as a time standard in my lab.

Very compact RS232 for Arduino, requires null modem
This converter works great. I only needed the RX and TX for my application. What I found is that this male version requires a null modem and the female version does not. I verified that the pins 2 and 3 are actually reversed in the PCB to the 3232 chip pins when comparing the male and female versions. If you know this then they work great, if you don't know this then you may think that it doesn't work at all.

Produces a nice looking package
I wanted to connect my weather station - which still uses RS232 - to a Raspberry Pi. This little device worked perfectly. I only need Send, Receive, and Ground, so I can't comment on the other handshaking lines. The documentation (online, I believe) said this can fit inside a standard 9-pin case (a case intended to just hold the connector), and it does. I had one in my parts bin - it fits perfectly. Produces a nice looking package.

Fantastic! I needed to interface a GPS module that outputs TTL to an Icom ham radio that is expecting RS232 levels. I actually cut the DB-9 connector off with small snippers to make the module smaller then mounted it to a board. The Icom 7100 saw the GPS immediately and the module is performing perfectly.
