For those having problems...
I read a lot of reviews here before I bought this, and many of them were saying the switched outlets wouldn't turn on. Mine wouldn't either, at first. Here's how i got mine working:It took some fiddling to find the correct setting for the load switch, I think mine actually ended up being backwards from the instructions for triggering from a TV but start with the switch on one far end of the setting. Watch the 'switched' light while you turn on your trigger device. If the switched light doesn't turn on, try the switch at the other end. If it switches on, try the middle setting. If it turns on, you're done. If it doesn't turn on with the middle setting, go back to the end setting where it did and you're done.My switched outlets still weren't physically turning on even though I had the light, until I put a load on them. I'm switching two powered studio monitor speakers that draw some current. The outlets wouldn't switch on until I tried starting with the speakers' power switches in the on position. Since then the outlets switch on and off every time, with or without a load present. For those saying they won't switch off, I have about a 2 1/2 minute wait before mine power down. At first I thought they weren't turning off until I coincidentally walked away for awhile and came back to them being off. It took me awhile to figure out there was a delay. I'm pretty sure that is normal operation, at least it is for me. I have a nagging feeling that the wait time may be load dependent - larger load, less time - as the load discharges a capacitor circuit, but I haven't put in the effort to prove it.Point being, If you're switching an insignificant load such as a piece of computer equipment or a DVD player, try plugging a lamp in with it and see if that does the trick.Otherwise, great product! It has worked flawlessly for me since the shenanigans that brought it to life!

This TS1003 vs more common listing TS1104
This TrickleStar TS1003 has a 4 ft cord vs 2 ft for the similar--and more common Amazon listing--TS1104. It also absorbs more than twice as much surge energy as the TS1104. Switching works as expected with Denon AVR-S950H audio/video receiver. Had to set the switching sensitivity to the middle position to get it to turn off when AVR drops down to its standby state. Unit seems larger than need be in width and depth (by far the largest seven outlet strip I've ever encountered unless it was a strip for mounting in an equipment rack. Also, the 3x LED indicators are *very* bright--brighter than I'd desire for this application.Update: the "switched power" LED on mine stopped lighting after about two months. TrickleStar was very responsive about sending a replacement strip. On another subject, it sure would be nice if all the people who design power strips could talk with all the people who design wall wart power supplies to agree on how big a wall wart should be and which way it should orient so multiple wall warts could be used in every plug strips without blocking adjoining outlets...

Works great as long as you have a brain
My setup: Vizio TV on the sensing outlet. Sound bar and Nvidia Shield on the switched outlets. I loved being able to say "Hey Google, turn on the TV" thanks to my Shield but once the newness of that wears off it's not exactly useful. The final straw was when at random it would turn the TV on, no Google Home involved it would just wake up which caused the TV and sound bar to wake up. I ended up finding out once it turned on shortly after we left the house and stayed on till we came home TEN DAYS LATER. Good thing screen burn in isn't really a thing anymore. After that I bought this and when I turn the TV off within three seconds it "unplugs" everything else saving me any annoyance and saving money. Also my Kill-A-Watt couldn't even measure how low of electricity useage this thing takes to run, compared to my TV, sound bar, and Shield which used about 50 watts when all turned "off".

Very useful power strip
I use this power strip in my wood shop, with the a power tool plugged into the control socket and the dust extractor in a switched socket. Whenever the power tool is turned on, I know the dust extractor will start up as well. Before buying this strip I would sometimes forget to turn the extractor with the result that I had a lot of cleaning up to do.The strip has the added benefit of providing extra 'always on' sockets. There are 4 switched sockets which I would probably never use. Perhaps TrickleStar could make a smaller version with just a control and switched port?

Unique Power distribution
Easy! Just plug in the power cord for the computer into the "Control" plug and then the ancillary equipment power in the associated green plugs and set the sensitivity. Then when you turn on the computer, it senses the power demand and automatically powers up the other plugs. I have a label printer, an external DVD Drive, and my computer desk lights on these plugs. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that there are only 4 green plugs and when plugging in transformers they block access to adjacent plugs.

Questionable
I have this one and the 1080 Joules. This one is not impressing me at all at this point and I’ve only had it since 9/10/2020. My tv is the control and my sound bar and sub are on the switched outlets. Yesterday I turned on the TV and sound bar/sub wouldn’t turn on, had to unplug and plug the bar back in. Worked. Just turned TV on and off x2 right now and sound bar/sub won’t come on. My threshold is set to high. Don’t know what the issue is. Oh and before I plugged it into this system, I had it in another room with a Bose sound bar... the sound bar kept turning on and off on its own, multiple times. It has not done that with the 1080. This one will probably go back.

Best energy saver product I ever received!
I have this same surge protector for my TVs and surround system in my living room so it was only right I purchased the same for my bedroom system as well. My outlets however are so spread out in my room so have to Shout out to my local Lowe’s for giving the best extension cord to support the protector so that I could utilize it.
