Q: Can I use this trolley to make a sliding barn door?

Sure you can... However I'd look at the 4 wheel trolley too. The 2 wheel is rated for about 46lbs vs the 4 wheel at about 110lbs. They will both hold more than that but the 4 wheel might roll a bit smoother if holding a heavy door compared to the 2 wheel.

Q: How much weight is this good for ?

A Unistrut P2949 trolley is rated at 150 pounds when traveling at 180 feet per minute, assuming it is paired with Unistrut P1000 channel. At 30 feet per minute, the trolley is rated for a design load of 437 pounds. Good luck with your project. Unistrut Service Company

Thank you for reaching out today. In regards to your mounting/clearance question, there is not enough room inside of the channel for a thru-bolt connection that would allow trolley movement. I did. I installed two unistrut sections at the ends of my small workroom, then suspended a long unistrut bar from the two end sections, using one trolley piece at each end of the long bar. Then I mounted the electric winch on two more trolleys on the long bar. So the assembly moves in two dimensions, and covers most of the 13' x 5' workroom, and I can lift heavy tools from the floor storage under the workbench to the workbench top.
