Its a hitch and it works, looks nice
This hitch is easy to install, you will need a 1⅛ socket and a 3/4 socket, realistically you should probably use a torque wrench. It is pretty straightforward there is a total of three bolts the hardest part is cutting the wire through the frame rail but in all honesty it's very easy. it took me about 6 minutes to put this in my car and I may not literally no exaggeration. Loosen the tire and drop it down about 8 or 10 inches, loosely stick the big bolt down through the top of the bumper and into the hitch and lightly tighten the nut just enough to hold the hitch up now thread the wire through the hitch and the rear horizontal holes and then thread the bolt into the wore repeat for the other side.Pull the bolts through and stick nuts on them. Tighten everything up evenly and securely and you should probably use the torque wrench. Or super strength but I don't think that is wise. After doing all that grab the little rubber cap and stick it over the bolt cover and technically you can put the ugly little Reese hitch cover into the hole but I threw that into the bottom of the toolbox I don't like the advertising for reese.Edit: one year in and the center bolt cover cap fell off somewhere. It looks ugly without it.When I got this I thought it fit a little loosely but ignored the problem I would recommend a small spot of epoxy to glue it to the top of that Giant bolt then yours will not fall off.Other than that the hitch is probably towed 8 or 9,000 miles all with a car trailer. It has worked perfectly.

2016 Ram 1500
Easy installation and a perfect fit. The Reese hitch includes the trim cap that covers the hole in the bumper, so it looks very nice. The wire used to fish the bolt and backer inside the frame is ingenious, and works very well. I did have to lower the spare tire to get clearance, but I'm glad to have practiced that before needing to do it roadside. In the rain. ;-)

This hitch went on without a hitch!!
Great price, the hitch installation was slick and easy. Very sturdy and the weight limits are super for a bolt on hitch. Very Satisfied.

Excellent---Installation tip.
It required some hand fitting as one hole was a little off. I think it was plasma torch cut as one hole was not completely round. But hey, thats what Dremels are for. I didn't remove the hitch to open up the hole as I already had the plates in the tube. So as a pre caution check fit up with bolts before you bolt anything. Be sure to duck tape the bolt heads to the slide in plates before inserting in the tube truck frame, A strong magnet on the outside of the tubular truck frame will move the plate back out if you lose one during installation.Everythng else was s straightforward installation.Be sure to always torque trailer hitches. A torque wrench can be rented from almost any auto parts store. Usual Reese high quality part. Reese trailer products are about all I use.

You can install the hitch
Great that the hitch actually fit. 300 lb torque seems more like a bulldozer torque than for a hitch and I don't like that you can only torque on the bolt head end. Bottom line, it is on the truck and I am happy.

Easy install on 2012 Dodge Ram 1500
This receiver was simple to install and is a good fit for my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. Instructions are ok but did not indicate which way the large conical washer should face. I installed mine facing down to ensure the rubber bolt cap fit flush with the top of the bummer surface. Installing the two back bolts prompted me to lower the spare tire for convenience. Hitch kit included a semi permanent plastic-chrome trim piece that snaps onto receiver square. The plastic-chrome trim stays in place even when using hitch. Since the truck has dual chrome exhaust tips the hitch plastic-chrome trim piece looks nice.

Does not fit the new body style.
I had to return it and exchange it for a hitch that fits the new body style. Before you order, crawl under your truck and look to see where your bolt holes are. If they come in from the back, this is your hitch. If they come from underneath, you need the other style.I gave it a 5 star review despite the confusion because it appeared to be a well-built hitch that probably works great on the truck it was intended for.

Nice little hitch
Was fairly easy to install on my 2014 Ram 1500 SLT pickup.Just need to be patient when pulling bolt through using the wire. Is definitely easier to install after removing spare tire for more space and visual to see if bolt is straight coming through the hole.

Easy Install and Quality Built
Highly recommend this hitch. Was extremely easy to install >20 minutes. To make it easier lower the spare tire under your RAM with the provided tool which is located under the passenger seat. The main bolt that holds the hitch on is a 1-1/8 socket size which I didn't have so I picked that up and it went flawlessly from then on.The main bolt needs 260 ft lbs of torque. The two frame bolts need 110 ft lbs of torque.I used a 2' breaker bar and got those suckers TIGHT.Well worth the money, but install it yourself! It's so easy and will save you the installation fee at a shop. Cheers!
