Superior Extra Heavy 8 Gauge Vinyl Mattress Protector Zippered Encasement Cover 100% Waterproof King Size White

Put this on my son's queen bed. It's bigger than the mattress ( and I did order the queen size), but that doesn't seem to be an issue and I feel like it made it easier to get his mattress into. So far my 84 pound son's jumping hasn't torn the cover, but I was putting a clean sheet on and one accidental slip of my hand easily poked a tiny hole in it at the top from my fingernail. I haven't seen the hole tearing any bigger since I haven't changed the sheet on it in the time since. All vinyl top, so easy to wipe down!EDIT: As of sometime in May/June I noticed the cover was slightly shredded on top after taking my son's sheets off. The second I tried to move the shredded pieces over a little to cover where they're supposed to be, it easily tore like nothing. Like it is weaker than wet paper. Changed stars from 4 to 2. Still gets 2 because at least it lasted a short while. :(

I like that it isn't crunchy hard. BUT, it is flimsy along the zipper and it literally tore as I was closing it. It was put on properly, but the plastic is so thin along the zipper line, I don't know how anyone got it closed without it giving out. I used packing tape on it, and that didn't stay. I ended up using Duct Tape and it help. Definitely over priced. I bought one from Target for less than ten bucks and it is far stronger than this. Buy something else, this one is chintzy.Update: Having had this for a little over a month, there are now three holes! I am not hard on my belongings, it is just this thin. Buy something else!

While I was unpacking the cover from the package I was shaking it out much like you would to unfold a blanket.There are two sides ....the zipper side and the seam side, the seam side came completely unglued from me simply unraveling it!!!!!The cover I order specifically states “fits 15 inches deep” my mattress is approx 12 inches deep and I struggled greatly to bring this mattress to close up.There is no way in a million years this cover is made for 15 inches this is 100% misleading.I would love a refund but the cost of shipping and the trouble of sending it back isn’t worth it. Don’t waste your money like I did with this total piece of crap.

I’m really pleased with this purchase. I was looking for this exact product. I love how it zips up so it has the full protection effect that eases my anxiety. It was fairly easy to pull on my king size mattress and for someone with a bad back is was great that I didn't have to move the big mattress to put the cover on. I have a standard king mattress and the bigger size of the cover helped it slide easily while putting it on. I just started from the top and moved back and forth from one side of the bed to the other and carefully slid it down until I was able to zip it. Then I fix it to where I could tuck all the extra material under the mattress. The extra material also helps it not tear as easily when my kids manage to jump on the bed. It gives it the extra pull so it doesn’t tear. I have about 3 sheets on top so it’s not really crinkly sounding. Overall really happy with my purchase.Update July 31, 2020- I just wanted to mention to the production company if they could add a bit of reinforcement into the side pleats. Maybe add a double or triple layer there. (See pictures 2&3). It seems like that is where most of the stretching is happening. I will be reinforcing it with tape but hopefully this can be fixed to render a better product.

The product description deliberately misrepresents this product as being “Superior Extra Heavy 8 gauge Vinyl....”. It is not. It is made of very, very thin material. No way this mattress cover could ever be misconstrued as “Superior Extra Heavy” as described by the seller. I don’t know if the seller deliberately set out to mislead the buyer or just didn’t check their product before listing it, but the fact is that this item is no where as described.I would return it except I needed it in a hurry and it’s already on the bed.Minus stars if I could.

THIS MATTRESS COVER SAVED MY BED!This is a waterproof fitted plastic bedsheet. Yes, it is fully waterproof! My cat helped me to confirm this multiple times. For those of you who have a pet who makes a bee-line for the mattress when they are sick and need to vomit, etc. — this mattress cover is for you!I was as pleased as punch when my cat got sick recently — not that they were ill — but rather when I returned home from work to find a pools of urine, vomit and diarrhea atop the plastic cover — all easily wiped up with a paper towel… it was all so wonderful and effortless!Because it is impermeable, liquid can spill over the sides, so you need to have something absorbent on top of it. I suggest either a towel or a mattress pad.How thick is it? The plastic is 8 mil in thickness (by comparison, a "heavy duty" garbage bag is about 1 mil, and a typical bedsheet is 12 mil. (I measured all these with a micrometer at multiple points across the sheet; it was the same thickness near the zippers.)How sturdy is it? I put some weights on it, and it supported over 50 lbs. (~20 kg) without problems. It finally tore when I put it over the top of my door and tried doing pull-ups with it. It tore on the seam of the zipper, so the seams are the weak spot. However, you need to exert a LOT of pressure to tear it.After two months, after a fit of vigorous kicking, the cat has left a single puncture of one layer. I say ONE layer, because I just lay the cover on top of my bed (which gives me twice the thickness of plastic and two separate barriers against penetration). This cover is designed to enclose the mattress, but I don’t see the need for this (unless you have bedbugs), as you can avoid all the problems with seams, zippers, etc. by just laying it on top of the mattress.How comfortable is it? Ok, it’s a sheet of plastic. I don’t think you are buying this for comfort. That being said, I have laid down directly on the plastic and fallen asleep with no problems. I was not kept awake by the plastic. Maybe add a couple linen sheets on top? This will also help with air flow if you are a sweaty person.There are a LOT of “comfortable” rubberized or treated fabric "waterproof" sheets out there, which are actually only “water-resistant” which means liquid will go through them to the mattress if you don’t get to it within a few minutes. Don't waste your money on that garbage.In Summary, this cost me around $20 USD — let’s have realistic expectations. It is a plastic sheet, not Kevlar Body Armor. If it gets damaged, you can buy another. I’m frankly not sure I even want to own a urine protector cover that I could pass down to the next generation.However, it is truly waterproof and it will protect your mattress from getting ruined!
