Looks great, pleasant to the touch, makes the bell go Ding Dong.
Ive had a very poorly made white plastic bell for several years, i was told to replace it and it needed to be a chrome, satin chrome type pusher. That was the brief so i picked this based on reviews and also manufacturer as Byron seems to be one of the main brands of Doorbells and pushers. The Good* It does look very very nice. The unit is heavy enough to not wonder if it will stand up to agitated delivery drivers attempting to press it into submission but its very solid.* The bracket is easy to fit, a couple of screws, there are rawl plugs if you need them. I read lots of reviews stating the bell push was fiddly to connect up, some people have cited it as a reason to return and whilst i did find it fiddly i expected it and there are ways to make it easier.* As per the pictures i picked up on someone elses tip that you can unscrew the push button from the switch unit, it isnt difficult and doesnt require any technical expertise. This means that you can get to the screw anchors much easier than when the switch unit is still screwed into the larger housing unit.* I would recommend using a sharp knife to lever up the metal strips so you can fit the wire underneath then simply screw the screw back into the hole to reshape it straight. The strips are stiff enough to do this a few times without worrying about warping or breaking them at all. Unless you have the touch of a hippo then this is easy.* Once the wires are in then simply screw the push button back onto the switch as per the pictures i have included.* The push is nice and fluid but does offer a comforting level of resistance, you wouldnt push it expecting it to fall apart. The Could be better* I am not marking the doorbell push down based on the fitting of the wires, use some patience and unscrew the housing and push from the switch unit and its easy enough.* The only issue i had is when fitting i dropped the unit on the path below, this resulted in a couple of scratches and a small ding. This is not the manufacturers fault, they are not built expecting to be dropped or have horses come around to press the pusher in, it was just my mistake so do be careful when handling. Dropping onto a hard surface could pickle the aesthetics.Overall i highly recommend, its not overly difficult to fit, works just fine and looks great.Five Stars!

Happy with my purchase
I read and learnt from many of the reviews of this product and decided to take a risk on it. I was prepared for a battle to install it and perhaps I was lucky, but I had it wired up and installed in 10 mins with no problem. It helped that I had enough wire to play with, the ends of which had already been formed into little circles for the previous plastic button push. I also used a magnetic screwdriver which was enormously helpful when locating and doing the tiny screws up. I can imagine huge frustration without one! (For those without, I would recommend a rug to put beneath the installation to catch the dropped tiny screws or indeed the chrome casing). I did not have to remove the chrome button either as some reviewers suggested to make installation easier. The casing is heavy, shiny and looks quality. It was worth the gamble and I am pleased with my purchase.I do feel in this day and age though that the connections should be made a lot more user friendly, which is why I have given it 4 stars rather than 5.

Nice bell push, but awful to install
The Byron bell push in brass looks and feels like a quality item, but installation is a nightmare. The problem is that it relies on wrapping the bell wire around a screwthread, but tightening the screw forces stranded bell wire out from under it and makes connection impossible.A fix, as mentioned by others, is to use solder. My solution was to tin the stranded bell wire with solder, making it into a hard single strand. This could then be gripped by the screw without being pushed out from under it. It would be much better if the bell push had screw terminals (like in a mains plug) or some other way to capture the wire more securely, such as Wago-style connectors. The bell push does dismantle making it easier to connect the wires (i.e. you can unscrew that bit from the push mechanism) and the button assembly unscrews from the brass housing, which aids installation.Once successfully connected the bell push works reliably every time. The design uses a metal disk that the button pushes inwards, to connect across two flat metal connectors. The disk is slightly cone shaped and the connectors are also at a slight angle, which means the connection is reliable. The metal connections are permanently fixed to the rear by way of hollow metal tubes, which are attached to metal plates to which the screws are connected.I have not had it installed long enough to tell how weather and corrosion resistant it is, but the metal feels of good quality and is very shiny. Once installed it is very nice looking.Once installed successfully it is a really nice bell push, but Byron need to change the design to make bell wire connections much easier.

Looks very nice
Nice door bell. Nice finish to it. However. Not connected at present as waiting for new door.

Nice looking
This is a nice looking door bell ringer, little tricky to install, and the little grub screw was missing, so had to improvise.
