Remote Control LED Pod Lights Great For LIght Up Center Pieces

The product was as advertised. It was easy to use and would have served our purpose, except for the fact, that we needed to use only the white light...and therein lay the problem. Because the white light uses all the colors at once to make white light, it drains the batteries in just a very short time. If your intention is to use it for rotating colors, i.e., red, blue, green-red, blue, green, your batteries will last longer. We found this out when we called Glow City and talked to their customer service rep. I wish we had known this up front before ordering it, as we needed a constant white light for our Christmas window display. Amazon was great as usual and accepted our return without question. So, be aware that this product will not suffice if you are looking, as we were, for white light only...look to something that is hard-wired instead of battery operated.

I had been using Ikea's color strips (DIODER) and while they are cool enough, it took me AGES to get them all on one power strip and an ETERNITY to hide the unsightly cords...the cords are just a nightmare for someone with OCD! These "pucks" are amazingly simple because they are battery operated...which, while not IDEAL for everyone, works fine for my situation. ^_^I am a toy collector and I like to display my "treasures!" I have various glass cases (9 wired to DIODERS) and now I have these 3 on the PUCK lights. You couldn't tell the difference unless I told you which ones were the DIODER-type and which ones were the GLOWCITY type, EXCEPT that the GLOWCITY ones are really awesomely bright(ER). Bright enough that I had to actually change the color/dim the color for my iPhone to take a clear picture because the intensity of some of the colors was making my initial attempts at a photo impossible.NOW, at first, I tried to use the batteries that came with them and I got upset because the pucks weren't working. Well, one of the issues was that there is a pack of 3, 2 are packaged together and 1 is packaged by itself. I didn't notice the 1 packed by itself at first and the plastic prevented it from making clean contact with the metal in the battery setup. BUT even after I unwrapped the singleton, the batteries didn't work. I used my own batteries (3 AAA) and screwed the top on nice and tight and was good to go. You have to remember to take the little plastic slip out of the remote before using it - but once you do and the puck is tightened over the batteries - the lights work immediately!The colors are vibrant! You can dim & brighten them, you can "strobe" them, you can "fade" them, you can just leave them on any variety of colors you like...they are really, really cool. I bought 2 sets of these already and my friends went out and got some after I told them how happy I was with them! My experience with the GLOWCITY company was great, too! If you need to contact someone or make an exchange or return, don't worry about dealing with them as a company - they're great. :)CONS:The batteries it comes with are useless - just chuck them!PROS...Everything else about these lights is A-MAZING!Battery operated - Save $ on electricity & learn to light stuff only when you actually HAVE to!They work via REMOTE CONTROL!The REMOTE - seriously, there are NO CORDS TO HIDE - BONUS: Freak your pets out by flicking them on when they're walking by!The REMOTE: Works very well from a decent distance - I'd say about the same distance as a TV remote!The REMOTE: Works with other different brand lights - You have to "map" the remotes to find the corresponding "function" position but it works!EASY to install - Stick them on a shelf and you're done!WELL-MADE: They feel substantial, not "cheap" at all - I dropped a few (I'm a klutz) and they were totally fine.SUBMERSIBLE: I didn't try this, but apparently you can do it!In my photos: GREEN lights are in a case is about 7 feet wide; it is lit with 3 pucks. The BLUE & PINK cases are the same size, they are nearly 8 feet tall; each are lit with 4 pucks (I used one puck facing the lights up and one puck on the same shelf facing the lights down on the TOP MOST shelf, the rest of the shelves have 1 light facing upward). *I probably could have gotten away with using 3 lights, I had bought more than I needed, not knowing how bright they were!)FINAL GRADE: A+

These lights are great, bright and beautiful but only for a one-time use. I've had 2 of these. I thought maybe my first one was just defected. I wrote to Amazon and they refunded my purchase price. I liked it so much and really wanted it to work so ordered new batteries for the remote. They were the wrong size, so that was more wasted money. I ended up buying another light. This one worked 4 or 5 times but then stopped working. I changed the batteries in the light, still nothing so I ordered the right size batteries for the remote. I just put them in and still nothing, so more wasted money! I'm very disappointed! Between paying for the light, new AAA batteries, and two different size remote batteries, it was an expensive lesson.

I thought I had closed the lid tight but I guess I didn't and when it fell into my fish bowl, water got in. I salvaged it and it's still working fine, with a few minor rusting. I love this light plus the remote gives me control over the color & brightness. I docked one star coz sometimes it's hard to align the cover & probably why I thought it was screwed in tight. Otherwise, it does its job.

It works decently. I actually got it for a web series I'm filming to use for a robot when he speaks. It's slightly difficult because it needs line of sight for the remote to turn it on and off so we have to tweak things to compensate. Other than that, it's bright, works well, and has all the different fun color ranges that are advertised.

They are bright and function fine, but the batteries didn't last 24 hours. I e-mailed the seller and their response was "Duracell batteries last longer." I will likely be returning this product.

These lights are really great for what they are and their quality and brightness is excellent. The kids love them. My only wish is the remote had a bit more range. It's a bit dicey after 10-15 feet. Would be really great if it were RF instead of infrared, but you can't have everything at this terrific price.

I loved these at first! Then they just quit working after only a half dozen uses. I tired to replace the batteries, that didn't work. I tried to replace the batteries in the remote and the part that holds the batteries just broke into pieces before I could get the batteries out even. I could see if the remote was dropped a few times, but it never had the chance to get dropped or misused. :(

The lighting is very bright, and the array of colors and modes is very satisfactory.
