Pelican1400 Camera Case With Foam (Orange)

I got this case for taking a DSLR camera and equipment on a rafting trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. This case is perfect for my Canon 60D with 2 medium sized and one small lens (EF-S 15-85, EF-S 55-250, and EF 50 f1.8) plus 3 extra batteries and a Sony Action Cam with 2 extra batteries with room left over. The 60D fits great without compressing the top and bottom padding much when closed but if the camera is any taller you may wish to get a bigger case. The pick and pluck foam makes the case very easy to customize for whatever electronics or other fragile items you wish to protect.I took this case with my camera gear inside on several swims in slot canyons floating it on the top of the water and never worried about getting the contents wet. I also believe that if my raft had flipped it would have protected the camera. It is very buoyant even when loaded with my camera and lenses so if it ever went in the water it would be easily retrievable. The case is also very strong and durable, I have stepped on it several times with my camera and equipment inside without causing any damage.The case is IP67 rated which means it is dust proof and water proof to 1 meter depth for up to 30 minutes. Anything more and you are risking water leakage. This is not a case to take on prolonged swims or scuba diving.Overall, if you use the case as it is meant to be used then it is a great case. It can really take a thrashing and even handle a reasonable amount of water submersion while keeping the contents inside safe from harm.

Pelican cases are truly the best. This went on multiple river trips with my DSLR in it including the grand canyon, main salmon and Middle fork of the salmon river. I was constantly getting in and out of it. The latches click in a positive way and make you feel confident it is secure. The foam is nice and easy to get the right shape cut out. I have 10 or so pelican cases in every size and they have been bombproof for a number of year. This particular case fits a canon full frame DSLR, spare wide lens, filters, multiple batteries and cords.If you have precious or sensitive equipment pelican is the best civilian protection you can get. I expect to pass this on to my kids when they start boating. The beefed up locking points are nice, though I don't use them often. The handle if beefy and the hinges have just the right resistance. On the back there are fins that I have driller out and installed a piece of all-thread with bolts on each end to handle a second strap so the case can be strapped down solidly to a deck board and still open without having to unstrap it. This probably voided the warranty in some way but it works for me and still seems crazy strong. I've done this on multiple boxes now and it has yet to fail me under heavy use.

You can't go wrong with a Pelican case. I have used Pelican cases for quite a few items over the years and have always been impressed with their design and durability.I bought this case for my Mavic Air drone. You spend $1,000 on a drone and accessories and you really want to make sure it is protected. This case came with the pluck and pick foam. It laid out all the items to judge their placement, then started to pluck out the foam sections. Within about 10 minutes I had the case exactly how I liked it and everything fit snugly.The case is solid, my asked about it and I showed her the picture where they are driving a car over one of these cases. She looked a bit skeptical so I jumped on the case, all 220 pounds of me, and it barely flexed. I think she believs now.I picked the orange case because I liked the hi-visibilty of that color. Everyone gets a black case, I wanted mine to stand out a bit.I have not tested the waterproof-ness of the case. I will not be testing that. At least not on purpose. But the seal looks good and the case closes securely, so I think it will be just fine.

Came very fast. Use it to store stuff that needs to be weatherproof. Great product.

This case is great. durable, well made, and the foam is great and easy to shape. Only thing is that its much smaller than it looks. Fits my GH2, 14-42 lens, 20mm pancake, 50mm FD, 3 lens adapters, a small intervalometer, charger, extra battery and chords etc. Its about as tightly packed as its gonna get though. Definitely recommend pelican, but definitely recommend going bigger.

As you would expect from Pelican, this case is absolutely perfect. It fits our Fujifilm camera and two lenses... as well as a spare battery, the flash, and 2 lens hoods. We put the smaller lens hood inside the larger, with the battery and flash in the center surrounded by foam so they wouldn't move inside the hoods. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect travel case. We'll use a sling case day-to-day, but for our travel portions we wanted the best protection, and this is built to protect and last. Love the orange color because it stands out, and we could never accidentally forget this. We also purchased a Nanuk shoulder strap and what an awesome addition when we need to be hands free going through airports. We had considered trying the Nanuk case, but the 910 was 1" less deep than this Pelican, and the 915 was a little larger than we wanted. This is perfect.

I am using this item Pelican 1400 Storm to keep my camera equipment safe and dry and easy to find if I go in the water while kayaking through out Ontario No one plans on flipping over but sometimes life happens so be ready. I trust the Pelican name it’s proven itself to me with a previous purchase
