JL Audio C2-650 6.5-Inch 2-Way Component Speaker System

I like the quality for the first two months. One speaker went out and tried calling JL Audio to send in for a warranty, but they don’t recognize this seller so I was denied a replacement.

Can't go wrong with JL! Just installed them in my 15 wrangler and man, i couldn't be happier. Prior to these i had the kicker "upgrades" and it was terrible. Once i installed these, i didn't wanna get out of my truck. I was able to hide the crossover in the Soundbar with some double sided tape, added some foam and was good to go. Just ordered another set to replace the dash speakers and cant wait to get them in. Jeeps stock stereo system is a giant fail (not the alpine system), I paired these with a Alpine KTP-445U amp that's hidden in the dash and a super slim yet impressive Rockville 10 in sub that i also got off of amazon. premium sound in a wrangler and no lost space. didnt sound like i wanted, not enough mids, the customer service blew me off several x's when i called about it. I would have just bought another deeper sounding pair they recommended but they didn't bother to communicate. If i added another set of speakers for the mids i think they are tough & nice speakers. I only wanted a powered sub & these for a regular cab truck no room for more imo. I sold the car and left them in it.

These sound lovely. Better than my Kappas.Update.After having these for quite some time now, I wanted to update my brief and vague review. They do still sound better than the Kappas I had. The lows are lower , the highs are softer, and all around have much better clarity. No harshness. The build quality is top notch. I do have an issue though. The protection circuit for the tweeters are too sensitive. At first I ran these as the full component passive set. Powered by a JL XD400/4v2. Which gives them roughly 75 JL watts RMS each. Gains propperly set with an SMD DD1. When pushing them at high volume for over a few minutes, the protection kicks in and attenuates the tweeters till they cool down. Prematurely. This didn't happen at first, it happened several months in. After getting fed up with that, I cut out the circuit from the crossovers. (voiding any warranty) and they played fine, and kept going. After an active upgrade, adding a DSP and putting the tweeters on their own dedicated channels of amplification (eliminating the passive x-over) they go strong and hard forever. Ofcourse they sound better after the DSP EQ's them, but the noticeable difference is the protection circuit held these back. This set still sounds great. Even better with active x-over system and eq. Good without the DSP. Just that protection circuit sucked life out for me. I'm still enjoying these speakers, despite the protection set back. Perhaps less wattage wouldn't make them go into protect. Then again, the tweets perform fine at more watts without such sensitive protection.

Jl audio is the best sound quality there not going to be the loudest or most bass but these are surpurb love the clean crisp sound. And they work nicely with jl audio speaker wire 👍🏼

They sound great installed in 2012 GTI, had to make a custom bracket for the front doors to hold the woofer but worth it. Put the coaxial C2’s in the rear and combined with a JL 400 watt amp and the car sounds really good.

Great speakers just too deep to fit my 350z doors. Online said they would fit, unfortunately they were wrong even with 1" spacer the window down hits.

They're so good that the only downside to these is that if the music is poorly recorded it'll show. Vocals on these things will give you chills and make a grown man cry. The mids have punch that'll tickle your toes. I really like the amount of detail without being harsh and fatiguing. These are the kind of speakers that sound the best without EQ which says a lot.
